Wow, Dmitri speaking fluent English, and what deep thought and feeling and what a friendly personae, it shows too in his singing and his charming smiles. He was so intelligent and it's no doubt his hectic life taxed his brain, the tumor growing in his brain from the strain. This happened with Jussi Bjoerling, Enrico Caruso, Mario Lanza. (although in different circumstances) I wonder if Jasmina, you interviewed Maria Callas, or was that before your time? I just got introduced to Dmitri and his voice when I heard him sing CRANES and now I have already purchased 3 of his CD"s, and will buy more. I watch all his videos on RUclips. I play Chess960 (Bobby's Legacy) and I know Chess genius Bobby Fischer used to work out (exercise) very vigorously, I wonder aloud that Dmitri work out to keep up with he strain of performances? Dmitri always seemed so fit and agile on stage. and Bobby Fischer beat almost all the Russian Chess Grandmasters yet he always kept good friends with Boris Spassky. I want to assert that Dmitri is the Bobby Fischer of Singing. BTW, Bobby Fischer was a great musician too. I love Conductor Constantine Orbelian. I'm Armenian and am proud of him being a close friend of Dmitri. I'm sure if Dmitri were alive he would be humble if I told him I like him better that famous baritones Robert Merrill, Lawrence Tibett, Tita Gobbi, Colin McNeal, etc...and like everyone else I simply can't get enough of him. I will keep looking up at the sky for White Cranes to see him leading the formations. l feel that this Russophobia has to stop and Dmitri please arrange World Peace flying up there with the White Cranes🦢🦢🦢🦢🦢🦢...❤
About Maria Callas: I was just a little girl when Callas was in her prime, so she was just before my time. About Dmitri working out: yes, he did work out with great passion (whatever he did, he did with passion), especially after 2000. Thank you for your remarks. I like the way he is always so honest and open in his interviews - he thinks so carefully about his career plans and he is so professional in his approach to music and to his singing. This is another one of those interviews which he often gives where he talks about how short life is/might be, how you must seize opportunities and challenges etc, which is so prescient.

what an exceptional interview! - wasn/t it also filmed? was it recorded in Ohrid, really? Jasmina missed a question: whey didn/t she ask Dmitry WHAT were the roles he considered „mistakes” (for having undertaken them)? it would have been interesting.
@Oana Grossu, if you still want to find out the answer to this question, google in "A Conversation with Dmitri Hvorostovsky". There is a video where he answers this question as well. One can only envy those mistakes. :-)
Thank you. It was made for a newspaper, so i had only this audio version. Not even a photo from the interview (i have few of them before it and after the concert), but i don't regret. I'll have the pic of it in my memory forever. About the missed question: we had limited time, and frankly as professional as one can be, well, his mere presence makes you feel more or less dizzy, so as you can forget your own name... So forgive me, please! :)
