Or just skip all this exterior CarPlay crap and buy an actual CarPlay system for your car. It’s easy to get on eBay for your specific car and the backup camera is not that hard to install or have a buddy do it.
If ur going through the trouble of running a back up cam wire, might aswell do full install on a cheap headunit since you'll be popping panels off anyway
To have to hook a wire to the reverse light to tell the camera when to come on LoL no he didn't explain it well at all because he wants you to think it's that's easy for the people that might be put off by that. It's still a good buy even if you can't figure out how to install the camera.
@@babadelis444 even better splice it into the reverse lights so it only turns on when your reverse lights come on. i believe the connectors are called T-taps you just clip them on. thats what i did when i connected mine
You dont have to take out the lights. It would just be a little lose since its not plugged in all the way because the wire is through the light hole at least its what I did with my car and no ticket yet
Yeah I never knew it was illegal. My license plate light was dead and I was driving without knowing the light bulb was dead so I got pulled over. Thought the cop was playing games and I got a warning.
So how does the camera activate and show on the screen when the car is put into reverse? Or is the camera always active and you just need to change the screen to view camera?
No one who goes through all that effort is going to have a giant plug jammed I to their cigarette lighter. All cars have a fuse box and there are adapters to wire it to that.
umm no this is prob a very tacky way on how to do it, first off that device to replace your head unit is not it, you shoulda got one that replaced the old head unit and you woulda been able to reconnect the wires into the area where the car know when to enable it’s reverse lights so whenever you put it in reverse the cars head unit display will also enable the camera making it feel more oem/factory and eliminating the need for random wires dangling around
so basically you have to wire it into the backup lights for your car. its not east work, it requires knowledge of wiring. anyways, you connect the cable to the backup light so when you put the car in reverse, the backup light gets power, therefore powering the backup camera and telling the "drivemate" that you are in reverse.
You have to solder the brake light wire to the backup camera so that when you reverse, it triggers the backup camera to turn on. Otherwise, you will have a continuously running camera that might as well be a rear dashcam.
@@Sam-k271 Hell, you don't even need to soldier it. Strip the plastic and twist them together. Electric tape it, and you are good to go. Soldiering is not easy for a lot of people.
Hello, does this camera have parking lines? Does it detect the steering wheel when you turn it? I don't know which camera to buy or which display to buy.
I like how you didn’t actually explain how to do it
You just run the wires and mount it lol
No need to tap into reverse light. Just wing it bro
It's easy, learn it
Plus minus and video cables 😮
Get off the internet little girl
Bro skipped actual installation and proper wiring (which requires disasembling multiple parts of the cars interior)
This part!!!
depending on your car which is why you do your own research
Yeah this is a low-level install.
Or just skip all this exterior CarPlay crap and buy an actual CarPlay system for your car. It’s easy to get on eBay for your specific car and the backup camera is not that hard to install or have a buddy do it.
Oooooh so impressed with installation. Now how about a video showing how to actually install it.
If ur going through the trouble of running a back up cam wire, might aswell do full install on a cheap headunit since you'll be popping panels off anyway
bravo straight to the point LMAO.. that's technically how to do it minus the cable management ;-)
Thanks, i ordered a camera for my atoto s8 thats a good idea..
Hey thanks for the vid bud. Does it affect the vision somehow when you don’t install the camera at the middle?
Amazon link?

or just do it properly and get a real stereo and a properly wired rear view cam.

Boo! You didn't show us an installation.

lol. theres no steps shown

Hey, don't forget that you need a way to activate the back up camera. You could splice into a taillight for example
How do you do that mate?

Vacuum that car dude
😂😂😂
How the car knows when you are reversing?
So how does the camera activate and show on the screen when the car is put into reverse?
Or is the camera always active and you just need to change the screen to view camera?
Solder the red wire to the rear brake light wire. It will then trigger when you backup your car.
Wtf If you tap on to your brake light, it will come on every time you hit the brake. You gotta tap into the reverse light
@@jerbsherb4391
To the brake lights?? 😂😂

Don’t have the marketing people make the technical support videos, they are idiots.
I don’t got the part that makes the actual camera work when I put the reverse. I’m trying to install it right now
The camera meets a signal to tell it when you’re in reverse. If you attach the power/ signal wire from the camera to your reverse light positive wire
100% sure he didn't do it in less than 5 mins. Complete BS.
No one who goes through all that effort is going to have a giant plug jammed I to their cigarette lighter. All cars have a fuse box and there are adapters to wire it to that.
If only it was this easy 🙄
So im now more confused after watching this video? Like there was no explanation of "how to instal a reverse camera" 😂

Okay and what if the car is so old you don’t have a license plate light?
why didn't I think of that.. I was wondering why it came with wires😂
Useless nothing helping at all talking too much
Ive looked online everywhere and there are no videos actually explaining how to set it up this is genuinely pissing me off

I like how he demos in one of the few older vehicles that can support factory CarPlay.
Picks the only car from 2011 that actually supports a oem drop in CarPlay update

How do you connect it to car sound system
For the car play part, will it connect automatically to the speakers in your car?
The player can transmit FM signal. Just search the FM signal on your radio to use the speaker in your car

How about how to clean your car?😂

How does it know when your in reverse if it’s only connected with a cigarette port
People in the comments are saying you need to wire it to your reverse lights that come on when switching your car to reverse
So generic
There is a red wire attached to this cable you plugged it to the device, where did you put it please?
You have to solder the brake light wire to the backup camera so that when you reverse, it triggers the backup camera to turn on. Otherwise, you will have a continuously running camera that might as well be a rear dashcam.
You meant solder Reverse light and brake light together with backup cam wire Or solder backup cam wire with just brake light ?
you connect the backup cam's auxiliary line to the brake light so that when you brake it tells the rear cam's full screen to turn on.@@Sam-k271

It can’t be as front camera

But did the back up camera turns on once you put the gear in reverse?
