so as a middle blocker when watching the setter. We are watching the general situation if the ball is tight to the net or how the setter sets?

Late reply. As a setter myself, he is basically correct. Watching body language can help immensely. However, he seems to be missing what others are missing, when a setter him or herself has vision.
As a setter, when the pass is in the air and I've determined where it's going to be and where to go, my peripheral vision is also on the middle blocker. If they cheat to one side or another before I touch the ball, I'm sending it the opposite way they cheat. Or like on a 31 quick attack, if the middle follows my middle hitter, I'll set a 93 (or Go for Gen Z....when did we move away from the two number setting nomenclature?). If the middle stays home, I'll set the 31. Not many setters do that so you may not have to worry too much.
