I think the 19 hits that “cool girl vibe” that previously the boy fulfilled. But this one is more practical so it has better staying power IMO :)

To me the 19 is very feminine for a girl who likes frills, the boy is more edgy, cool girl, masculine….two very different bags…but with similar staying power…
I am not so sure about that. And I really love this bag! Yet I´m hesitant to buy it The 19 has 2 features that are very trendy right now: the cunky chain and the cushony, padded structure Those very features may make it look outdated once those trends have waned. With the Boy it's different. It´s design didn´t pick up on trends so much.. Therefore it has a way more timeless aesthetic, in my point of view.
The 19 and the Boy bag and the Coco handle are the styles most suitable to my tastes and lifestyle. I don't care what is classic or trending so much. I rarely wear my classic flap because it is is not "me" on a day-to-day basis. The 19 is so beautiful, comfortable, and user-friendly....what's not to love! 💕 Great video.

I think Chanel 19 won’t be like classic flap but I reckon it has staying power compared to boy bag. Reasons are it’s practical, comfortable to use and flexible & easy to dress up/down.

I love my Chanel 19 Black small size, the one you have. It is fun material and great with most casual wear. The best part, 19 was the last bag designed by Karl Lagerfeld before his passing. It is a privilege to own one of his last iconic design. Yes...this will be a bag that will last for a long time as it is the last design by Chanel best designer - Karl Lagerfeld. In the house of Chanel, Karl was the creator of the CC interlocking design. To have and owned his last legacy is a privilege.
I particularly like Chanel’s seasonal bags because no one really can pinpoint what season it came from and it’s not over saturated in the market. That’s what makes it “timeless” to me!
I also had a boy bag, had it for a while, but I sold it and I’m glad I did. I think the 19 will also see the same fate down the line, but I think as long as a person loves their bag no one cares if it’s trendy or not!
I think 19 bag will be same as Boy bag. It will be there but it will cool down over the time. I remember when first boy bag come out on 2011, it was so hot so popular but now it just hanging there not so popular as used to be. I did poll in my community post to ask people to vote which Chanel bag they would buy? Both bags has the lowest rate from this poll. Thank you so much for sharing darling💕

I saw this bag in person and I admitted it’s functionality. It is not everyone kind of taste and first time I also did not like it but now I find it beautiful:)

I have 2 19s and 4 classic flaps- I love the 19 because it has a more casual bag and I find it’s soft structure is more versatile and comfortable to use.
I definitely use my 19 bag so much more as it is so much more comfortable to wear! Thanks so much for sharing your experiences! Xx
Agree that this is goes well with casual wear. I tried this bag when I was in sports attire, it matches so well that I decided to buy without further thoughts. The chains make it so chic.

I don't think this bag will remain a classic, unless Chanel keeps creating new variations on this one, which I have serious doubt about. And it will also depend on the upcoming fashion trends. I think this trend with puffer bags will slowly faze out coz those brands will need to come out with some new designs to keep creating desirability among their customers.
I've been a Chanel client since the late 1990s, and I have noticed most of their "it-bags" had always remained "hot" only between a 3 to 8 year period of time: 2005 Millemium, Diana, Cambon, GST, Cerf tote, Bubble, Cocoon, Mademoiselle, Boy, Gabrielle had all followed this path. And you are right, the Boy range longevity is truly exceptional!
I don't agree with you on one point: the classic flap is very versatile. I could easily picture you carrying the beige flap from the back with just a white tee and some used denim shorts and the overall won't look out of place at all!
By the way, I am not a fan of the 19 at all, I find the overall design looking hideously tacky on me (I am a dude, and it does really make me look like a transgender prostitute). But I have to admit: both you and Amy have that "je ne sais quoi" that brings this bag to another level and you gals make it look so precious. Maybe it's because the bag is melting into both of your aesthetics (fashion style, hairstyle, carriage...) organically?

Love the 19 bag! I think it has staying power because it's so comfortable and practical to wear.
I love and own this exact bag... That being said, I do see it as a trend piece due to the chunky mixed metal, puffy oversized quilts, and unique cc logo. Also, I'm not sure how the structure will hold up long term even with an insert. But the way I see it, this bag suits me and my needs atm. I love all the space inside and casual vibe of the bag. I'm thoroughly enjoying using this bag, its become my go-to purse (more so than my mini and definitely more than my CF). Plus I could always sell it later if it loses trend power or it no longer suits my needs. Chanel has built such a name for itself that there will be a high demand for preloved Chanel bags. And with the ever increasing prices, you will be able to recoup at least 50% (if not more) of your money which is pretty good especially if you used the bag a lot. The issue with other similar bags from other brands is that they don't demand the same resell value as Chanel. I really do hope this bag stays relevant indefinitely though. I personally find the large CC a turn off, so I think it'll be a Chanel trend, like the Gabrielle - practical cool bags with mixed metals that stay around for several years. When I can buy Chanel, I think I'm going to go for the reissue, also can be more causal, and def more understated than the 19.

I can wear the 19 both casually but with a little chic, business casual easily, and elegantly as well. It can go to work and it's not gaudy.
I can wear this 10 years from now and it will still be a beautiful piece that doesn't look out of place.
The Chanel 19 is one of my favorite bags to look at. I love the mix metals and my favorite is the chain top handle. It’s just a beautiful bag. I think the 19 is here to stay. Great video 😊

Not too sure of the 19 bag. I still feel it looks rather tacky. Perhaps it might eventually be part of the classic line they might carry?
As owner to the boy bag, I really enjoyed mine and have brought it out on so many occasions (dressy or casual). I do agree it has its down sides (eg, weight, loud chains) but perhaps my personal style suits the boy bag too much that I might be biased towards it! Great video as usual babe!

My opinion Chanel 19 is here to stay, I happy to say I got one and love it. It might not consider Classic Style but as you stated it's practical and the style is not trendy it will last years to come

I think the Chanel 19 is one of Chanel's best bags. I think it will have staying power simply because of its functionality. It is so much more practical and user friendly than the classic flaps. Unlike the classic flaps you can wear the 19 small size crossbody, the chain is quiet, it is easy to get in and out of, has a bigger back pocket and it has much better capacity. The classic jumbo is impossible to use because it is so heavy whilst the 19 small size is almost the same size as the jumbo and yet it weighs much less. The classic flaps are beautiful and timeless but over rated. The 19 is certainly a bag you use comfortably for many years. Karl Lagerfeld's last and best design!
Of course this will stay. It is the elevated classy version of LV’s pochette Métis. However, I still love my Le boy bag. Perfect when I use my leather motto jackets.

Yes! I’ve owned and sold a Pochette Métis in Empriente. I considered a reverse monogram for a minute, but once I tried it on, I kept thinking the 19 looked better. So I eventually got a 19 and am already thinking of adding a second.
I agree. The Chanel is so comfortable to use and such a great bag, dear Isabelle. I really love the Chanel 19 bag. 😍It's my "go-to" bag. The Chanel 19 has been added to the Chanel "classic line" of bags for awhile now. I remember asking my SA about this. Therefore, it's going to keep going up in price, and it will keep coming back each season in different colors and materials. Such an informative and helpful video. Thank you for sharing. 😃❤️
I agree about the 19 - but don’t know why You tubers say the boy is out it too goes up in price - the last increase included the boy and it went up $600.00 dollars. If it was not selling it would not have gone up so much!

I think the 19 will most likely have great staying powder as most Chanel bags cannot be worn crossbody or do not have a top handle. I bought the black small 19 in lambskin before the last increase. I almost bought a used goatskin from fashionphile but it looked so wrinkled and was only a year old plus it was 1000.US dollars more than a new one! The associate at Fashionphile told me all the goatskin they have been receiving are that way and in her opinion the Lambskin looks better as time goes on. It could be just how someone takes care of their bag though. I sold my 2 coco handles as the chain was too short for crossbody and the top handle was not comfortable on my arm. I so like my 19 that I just ordered the small in caramel. I have several SA’s and all told me to reserve 4 wks ago because the 19 is so popular.

@@IsabellesStyle Thanks - with Chanel’s 5 yr warranty now - I think for a bag like the 19 it is definitely better to but new - plus the 19’s that are used could only look worn because the person who had it didn’t use an organizer, stored incorrectly etc For some reason all 19’s are now lambskin.

It’s a Chanel, it will always be relevant, weather it’s a classic or not. It is trendy right now, but it is beautiful (for those who like it) and easy to use. I have a classic flap and I rarely wear it. I wear my 19s more. But my favorite forever will be my reissue. But people don’t love the reissue because there’s no logo. So for someone who loves Chanel with a casual vibe, this is a great bag.
Love the reissue fir that exact reason but sometimes you want that fun bag and this is it. I have the 19, CFs and reissues….they all have a different vibe.

Even after watching this it is still not my style, i think it is overdone and is a trend piece as A LOT of influencers/youtubers have them. That could change but that is just in my opinion, i personally would choose a classic flap over the Chanel 19 any day!!!
I love this bag cos I don’t like the classic flap. The classic flap is too dressy for me so this works well!
Personally, I’m not a fan of the puffer trend. I prefer bags that have more shape and structure so the 19 looks a bit too sloppy and slouchy for me 😅 but that applies to basically all “puffer” style bags for me (YSL loulou puffer, LV coussin, etc).
And also for the price, I’d be unsure if I can get my money back out of the bag in a few years time. That’s an important consideration for me when purchasing luxury goods, and I usually go for more classic styles because of it.
Good point on the resale value, it is quite good at the moment but in a few yrs time, it may go down! Classic flaps would be much better at retaining value for sure xx

One of the deal breaker for me for this bag is the 2 sides of the bag sticking out and potentially exposing the contents of the bag to rain or drizzle when not carrying an umbrella. I live in Singapore and it rains quite a lot recently. Does that happen to you during your six months of using this bag Isabelle?
I completely agree! That is my least favorite part by FAR...the little sides sticking out, makes it look a bit cheap and not practical, for the reason you mentioned as well. Other than that it's adorable with the mixed metal and everything else! But those sides that are always puffed out really rub me the wrong way 😭
I like this bag. I'd buy one. I currently own the Black Caviar Jumbo classic. I still think the brands copy each other. This bag reminds me of the YSL Lou Lou puffer!
I have the same bag as you! love mine and has become my go to Chanel bag. The goatskin leather is absolutely divine and quite scratch resistant. I use a felt bag organiser which helps it keep its shape and structure, even preventing the floppiness on the base. The top handle and the ability to cross-body wear it adds to the practicality of the bag. I love how it looks a bit edgier but still quintessentially Chanel. Its definitely a forever bag for me!

I really like the 19, and i was super tempted to buy it soon after the launch but when the pandemic struck I decided to commit to the H quota bag hunt over the next couple of years to take advantage of the rare opportunity when our city state is bereft of my stiffest competition - wealthy tourists from the region! So far it's 2 down 2 to go for me (praying my k25 comes in this year!!), and after that I will either get a mini square or the 19 woc :) The frequent price increases are killing me but we gotta pick our battles. I have plan to buy Coco handle but since my friend tell about 19 i think i will getting 19 rather than coco handle. But can’t resist the cuteness of coco handle, i wish could buy the two bags at the same time 😂. Anyway i am new subscribers from Sydney too.
I like the aesthetic and practicality of this bag but couldn’t end up getting one until now. Maybe I doubt I would get bored of the flashy chains and logo quicker than the minimal and classic styles.
I do agree with the above advice about the CF. I don’t think matchy matchy is the unique way to carry it. I like to match casual look with my CF and CCH. It helps tone down a bit the formal look of the bags while still giving you a luxurious and dressed up vibes. Just try that and you will be able to maximize the use of your bags and bring down the cost per wear quicker.
Time will tell if I end up getting bored of the 19 bag😆So far, I still love it. I agree, minimal styles will have better longevity as we won't get tired of them so fast.

Hey I loved your advice will apply it too. I don’t have Chanel but with my two contemporary bags I own I will apply your advice.
The one which is a bit more casual from Kate Spade will wear it more with my dresses for more semi formal occasions while I will wear my purificación García which looks more sophisticated with my more casual clothes.
Great style advice thank you : that way I don’t make semi formal outfits too serious and add a bitt of sophistication to my more casual outfits.

You’re so right about the strap being a teeny bit too short for taller people.. I tried it on at the boutique and crossbody was not possible on my frame lol… I do find myself touching the leather and thinking: is this really worth the money? I guess I have a bias as I perceive sturdiness = quality 😅

I have never seen the single flap in person so cannot tell you for sure but between the 19 and coco handle, 19 feels more light weight and shoulder strap length is better too! Hope this helps xx
I am 5’4 inches -the drop on my 19 is 20 inches and length is perfect for me crossbody. Had 2 Coco handles - but strap is too short for crossbody! Plus for some reason the strap on the coco handle would not stay up on my shoulder.

I’m loving this Chanel 19 it has the sophisticated Chanel style but has a bit of an edge that would appeal to the YSL girls.
The Lou Lou is gorgeous but it’s sooo rock Star style, you can dress it up or down but it’s definitely for women who’s style is more sexy, like Samantha from Sex and the City.
the classic Chanel is super sophisticated so girls who feel more edgy and casual might think the classic Chanel is way too preppy for them. The classic Chanel is for girls who identify with Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl .
And the Chanel 19 is for both: preppy girls will love it as much as the YSL Lou Lou girls.

Love the tweed/wool varieties of the 19 but I keep thinking the chain is too big and chunky for me. It looks so heavy! I’d say they are a trend and in 5 years we won’t be talking about them but so what? If you love it, buy it, use it, get enjoyment from it.
