Never knew you could mix water togheter with the pigments, really nice tips and tricks! Keep it up.
Thank you for these demonstrations, I found them quite informative.
Glad you like them!
G'day mate
just tried your dust technique on the wheels of my Tamiya Horch 4x4.
Just worked a treat !
Can't wait to try the dust on the vehicle technique but that's tomorrow's job
Great to hear!
When you seal in pigments is mr top coat flat spray by Mr hobby a good exemple of a varnish?
Nice tutorial...i was wondering about sealing pigments...a couple of times that i sealed them, i noticed that the color of the sand/dust became darker...and it sort of took away from the dust effect and gave a dry mud effect. Any advice?
Have not tried it yet since I am waiting on my varnish to arrive but I will try to apply the pigment after varnishing. Have you tried something else since you asked?
Wondering if I can apply the Matt varnish with a brush, since I don’t have an airbrush? Guessing it would pick up the pigment and smear it?
yes its best to use an airbrush, but you might get away with pigment fixer, just dab not brush it down and let it flow over the pigments, but airbrush is best.
@@genessismodels Thanks a lot for replying ;)
Nice video. What type of matte seal do you use? Can it be acrylic?
I used winsor and newton matte uv varnish mate its acrylic
@@genessismodels Thanks so much. I have some Africa Korps Pigment I'll try - looks similar to what you've got here. Really curious what happens when a wet sealer hits the dust pigment - even through an airbrush, doesn't it ruin that dusty look?
Applied Matt varnish..the whole effect disappeared..wont be buying that crap again
Use trusty old oil paint instead..👍
