I've have this Washing machine for more than 35 years--it spins so fast ( 1000 ) RPM final spin that the clothes come out almost dry!
It takes 15 minutes to completely dry the clothes on line outside.( solar dry )
When I talk to the Washing Machine experts they say this is the best one ever made!
The nickname for this machine is the Thumper since it moves the agitator up and down instead of turning back and forth.
I acquired this machine from a nuns convent used and wish these were still made.

This is by far my favorite washer of all the time. I remember this machine being in our basement when I was a kid and remember always being fascinated with the pulse agitator but what sold me was the ultra fast spin, then the rapid dry last minute spin??? Maaan omg!!! This Frigidaire washer reigns supreme!!! No other wash can touch it. The company did a terrible disservice to this washer wn they cut out the pulse agitater and the " bionic spin". Now they're just as boring as a slow spinning Whirlpool and her sister Kenmore, and "Lady" Kenmore🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱

I have an idea that normally washers like this only spin about 500-700 rpm, but this one 1000!!
    Nice!

This washer is identical to the one we had back in the 60's. I remember when it would shift into these spin cycles, always thought it was going to take off! Mom loved it because the clothes were almost dry. Kept that washer till 79.

That reminds me of the 'time-travel machine' that my brother and I built when we were kids. It only worked for cats though.

In Australia we had a couple of versions of these Frigidaire machines made my General Motors Holden, my Nan had one which was the top of the line Custom Imperial, these machines are so rare here in Australia now, I have been looking for one for 20 years and not once has one come up for sale! My grandfather put my Nan's machine out on the nature strip without first checking with me if I wanted it, the machine was snapped up within 20 minutes according to my grandfather. It started leaking water, all it was was the tub to pump hose and the moron technician refused to fix it so he chucked it out, sooo stupid!

@DudeDie222 Indeed. It seemed like washing machines in many countries REALLY lost a lot of the good features they had in the early years (like fast spin, bleach "dispensers" that actually "dispensed", and didn't just "funnel"). I suppose manufacturers though they could more or less put out an extremely crappy product, but as long as "no one knew (or cared)", they could charge just as much for an inferior product.

Also the solid tub feature. The washers with spin drain had small holes in the top of the wash basket where the water was pushed out to the outer tub and pumped out from there. Now these new washers take a week to drain the water out of them.

LOL!! They were made by Frigidaire in 1966. Frigidaire was owed by GM at that time. 1000 RPM spin speed, which is great for towels, not so great for clothes though. (sets wrinkles)

@@CowboyCarCrushing That is why I use it for towels. Cuts the drying time in half. I have a collection of 1950's and 1960's restored washers and dryers. (If anyone tells you collecting license plates is strange, just tell them about my washers/dryers)

Is this machine a multimatic or a rollermatic? I suppose the 3 speeds was to help protect the engine, instead of ramping immediately up to 1140 like on the 50's unimatics?

As in what mph runs at 1000rpm, it would be 0
      As in tire spins 42
