Very helpful info! I’ve only been a DM for about a year and wish I had my players make their characters at our session 0. I ran into the same issues where most of the party spent time creating their characters around their class - and 3/7 of the players were rogues hahaha. We’ve adapted as time goes on and it’s been a fun game, but I’ve learned a lot from my mistakes. Thanks for the video!
I'll be doing more of these videos as time permits. Being a GM is hard and even being a forever DM for over 30 years I feel like I have learned a few things. There are so many resources out there to help these days it's truly amazing. Do you have any current challenges that you wish someone covered?
Great tips!
Thank you!
I’m sure this guy is a great DM and this content is great 👍🏻
But geeze, my DM is a high school teacher and wayyy less anal about rules at the table 😬
Guess hence the need for a session 0 but man, holy flash back to middle school
My players generally think so.
I've gamed with alot of groups and usually keep my games together for 2+ years. To do that, I tend to find establishing a good structure and expectations allows for everyone to focus on a good time. It also helps weed out problem players, which if you end up with a few ever in a group...well, it's then that you wish you had that foundation of expectations.
Every table is different though! ~Conesy
It’s a well known fact that Ben is a great DM
Ha! I haven't had the pleasure of you playing D&D at my table...yet ;)
