That extra .4 hp really makes a difference when you’re in the middle of the cut. You could tell the 545 was a little bogged down but the 550 stayed on top of the RPM’s. I’ve heard they’re the same engines except there is a limiter on the 545 to detune it a little. I would think this would add some years of service to the 545 over the 550. Two great saws!
Supposedly, the 545's are built with more torque in mind, whereas the 550 is geared more towards higher rpm. It sure looked like the 550 out torqued the 545 to me.
I just bought the 550xp and its 9nly had 1 tank of gas through it. I see all this stuff on RUclips about muffler mods and id like to make it even faster than it is but man im on the fence about drilling amd cutting on a brand new saw ya know. Anyways thanks for the video
Yeah you might want to wait on the warranty to run out before you start moding your saw. Would definitely void it. I have done the muffler on my 545 but haven't on my 550xp.
I have the 545 I love my saw but would like to get a non safety chain what do you recommend and why the bar an chain combo on your setup?? Just curious also nice work on the video.
I am running the Oregon EXL chain in this video. It's pretty good chain for the price. My next choice would be the Husqvarna xcut chain. My saw came with the x force bar but the sprocket locked down on it . I got that Oregon bar off of Amazon for a great price. I have been happy with it so far. I run a TsuMura bar on my 550xp. That Oregon bar was a combo with chain for $48. I also run 18" bars. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching
