Awesome! Whatever happened to the Native Tocharians / Yuezhis who spoke an Indo-Iranian tongue? ? Now that area is predominantly Turkic, isn't it?
Very well explained, Salman Ji, thanks so much 😊🙏
I know from elders who worked for the Dogra dynasty in Jammu and Kashmir that there used to be some trade between Kashmir and Chinese Turkestan, with silk and felt/numdahs and other items brought to the Indian side and things like honey, saffron, butter, salt, some Indian spices etc were usually taken there.
(BTW i loved Patrick French's book on Francis Younghusband; and Hopkirk's books are all classics)
