I love Dr Allender so much, I do, however, believe that self defense is at times a responsibility for the liberation of the oppressed both personally and nationally especially here in the US because our nation does so much to preserve liberty and forward the cause of freedom and the gospel throughout the world. (flawed yes, but still true) National and self defense at times requires fighting but in the context of relationship within marriage, family and the church recognising that the people involved are largely good willed people the gospel and love first contempt never should always be the spiritual objective.
I know this is old but I missed how the fall affects us now. He seems to just show how he feels certain things are bad and before that he spoke about how Adam spoke to God. But IDK if he ever really discusses how the fall affect shame, etc.

John Eldredge went on christian TV the week of the release and bragged about more or less tricking thousands of non-believers into coming to see a motorcycle movie but instead getting "the word" jammed into a movie with very little motorcycling.
What rock were you living under to not know about John Eldredge and Dr. Dan Allender's faith in Jesus? Are you saying that a person who has faith in Christ has to exclude that faith from their work, their family, their adventures together? Who is the one who might be a teensy bit hypocritical here...?
