I have family that live around Mountain Home, AR, so I know y’all are having some pretty brutal weather-I think the low tonight in Mountain Home is supposed to be -9 F. Hope y’all stay warm and safe!
Father was a truck driver for many years he passed away in 97 but I remember even as a child of five going on the road with him I've seen a few strange things and maybe sometime I'll tell you about those but at the age of six I was listening to a story while Dad slept for a few hours old-time AM radio they were talking about a Cryptid type monster man, the story the monster was creeping through a cemetery. I look up as I'm sitting in an empty parking lot with a little truck stop gas station the middle of nowhere the only light is from the Moon which is partially covered by clouds although it is a full moon around 3 in the morning and all I can think of is there's a cemetery across the street I can make out a few headstones in a couple of trees no leaves on them as this took place in late fall in Wisconsin I lasted about 5 minutes before I woke my dad up and listen to your stories for a while now I have to tell you about some of the things I came across Wisconsin as a young adult and teenager
Im an otr trucker, and call me weird, but i love listening to these sorts of stories when driving through the middle of nowhere at night. And yeah, we see some weird stuff. Regular weird stuff people do, to stuff your not sure if it was real or not.
@@RuinedTemple There are radio broadcasts all over the world that are just usually a womans voice or childs voice reading out numbers like this for example: " 1.......2.......1......6......7......ALPHA.....8.....0.......2........1...." It's spooky. Here's one example (on website there's a blue box on the right side press play to listen to an example of a live broadcast recording. priyom.org/number-stations/english/e06
on this example it's "460 597 597 123 123 33038 33038 ... 08047 08047 597 597 123 123 00000" so we can assume things like maybe 597 is a call sign telling that person to listen up and then the middle 33038 33038 ... 08047 08047 is maybe a mesage
Interesting stories in this one. I've always thought the Black Dog legend that seems to emanate from tired truckers was one of the most interesting bits of American folklore out there. I don't know what it is about it, but something in the legend gets to me. The ghost and radio/UFO stories were good too. Especially the UFO one, as whatever it was seemed to be intentionally trying to screw with the protagonist. The last one, presumably a sasquatch inspired tale, was also pretty good. I don't think most bigfoot stories are very interesting, because they're usually all the same "I heard something, then smelled something" types of stories that go nowhere, but this one had actual drama and danger and menace embedded within it. The woodknocking and thrown stones is also a common feature, but they worked better here. The red glowing eyes is what really topped it off, and made it a bit better than the normal fare.
The black dog was a movie theme from a Patrick S. Movie in the late 80s or early 90s. Never heard it before that, and the family laughed, we have been OTR company since 62.
Why wouldn’t he get into the truck during the night? Sounds safer than being out by a fire. It’s somewhat ironic that the guy who was called to fix things has a truck that dies on him.
@@wplains You bring up a funny, and perhaps ironic point, but one that comes true more than you might suspect. I know a lot of mechanics, whose cars are often breaking down, because they spend all day working on other people's cars/trucks, and don't like doing it at home when they are tired and would rather do anything else. Likewise, I know a lot of window installers who have broken windows, painters whose houses really need painting, and concrete/flatwork people whose driveways are crumbling. For, presumably the same exact reason.
@@evilcam Kind of like a dentist with bad teeth? 😂😂😂 I really feel for that poor guy stuck out there by himself. On the other hand, he was really well prepared with his sleeping bag, MRE’S, water, etc. pity he didn’t think about his battery.
My Father was a trucker since before I was born. He sadly died in his truck in 2007. His CB handle was Papa Smurf. It wouldn't surprise me if some of you knew him. He told me a lot of stories from the road, like how he was given 2 sides of beef from someone he delivered to, and how he donated it to an orphanage, or how you kept your doors locked so the "lot lizards" didn't climb into your truck. lol. My Dad was one hell of a guy and is sadly missed.
My sister and I were on a road trip from Texas to Georgia. One night while driving we ran into some rain and having to slow down we encountered a car almost into the middle of the right lane, I had to swerve from the right to the left lane and as I did a very tall clown jumped out in front of us. I know this sounds crazy but it happened and we still talk about it today. I don't think we stopped until we got to Georgia.

Im an otr trucker, and call me weird, but i love listening to these sorts of stories when driving through the middle of nowhere at night. And yeah, we see some weird stuff. Regular weird stuff people do, to stuff your not sure if it was real or not.
Its so cold out just saw a politician stick their hands in their own pockets....
Damn must really be cold there! Lmao
@@mentalbreak4653 im in Minnesota so, yeah.
hey so the 3rd story when he said female voice saying random numbers and letters i thought of the number stations
What's that?
@@RuinedTemple There are radio broadcasts all over the world that are just usually a womans voice or childs voice reading out numbers like this for example: " 1.......2.......1......6......7......ALPHA.....8.....0.......2........1...." It's spooky. Here's one example (on website there's a blue box on the right side press play to listen to an example of a live broadcast recording. priyom.org/number-stations/english/e06
also it's generally thought to be used to relay spy orders over long distances with no one else knowing what its about or other military orders etc
on this example it's "460 597 597 123 123 33038 33038 ... 08047 08047 597 597 123 123 00000" so we can assume things like maybe 597 is a call sign telling that person to listen up and then the middle 33038 33038 ... 08047 08047 is maybe a mesage
Ayyye love trucker/scary road stories!
Man, sounds about right! Thank you so much my favorites!

@@janetlieb2507 that sounds amazing lol I love the snow
@@laaguila92 yes! Beautiful ! I love the snow!! And the rain!❄❄❄❄
I really feel for that poor guy stuck out there by himself.
Co driving is nice sometimes, but I also enjoy the alone time
Totally awesome set!
Thanks for everything you do sir. This channel is my only narration channel, and looking forward to getting a 👕
My sister and I were on a road trip from Texas to Georgia.
That is a true story. I still think about that.
@@jacquelinemosley4992 I'm so glad we didn't stop.
Whaaaaaat??!! Ugh. Even if the person was actually in distress, ATTIRE IS EVERYTHING when jumping out into traffic, especially if you need help!! Who wants to check on Bozo at 3am on an empty pitch black highway?! ... Hahahahaha! So glad you guys stayed smart! ! Stupid

Thnx DP! This series is one of my FAVORITES! It's been a while so I am going to enjoy listening to it! Three of my family members are Truckers. Will ask them if they have any scary encounters or stories for you. 🤗😻🙏💕💕💕

I-84 doesn’t run in Wyoming. He was on I-80 on elk mountain. I’m a trucker and been in that same situation.

Thanks friend, you do the same.
Mr. Darkness, I used to listen to Swamp Dweller's scary stories only, cause I liked his narration. I still like Swampy, but you are, hands down, the best narrator I've heard on You Tube. You are AWESOME!!!!! Thank you Darkness 😊👍😁♥️

And truckers keep this country rockin and rollin. Thank you! 🙏🏻

I was a courier and traveled a lot. The worst accident I saw was a tractor trailer literally on top of an SUV that had been crushed to about 2 feet high and an entire family had died. You never get over seeing something like this.
Just pulled my rig over to find another trucker video. I'll be sure to send in when I finally have one
Be safe on the road!
Thank you👍
Awesome 💤🎧
I'm done with winter ... Foot of snow in Memphis Tennessee just now the highways have been plowed .... My Grandfather lives in Fayetteville Arkansas and they had negative 10 degrees or some nonsense.... Crazy
Imagine aliens just playing Beethoven for you

Nothing like wearing your favorite PJs and tank top and drinking coffee while listening to these types of horror stories so relaxing and fun ♥️🙂🙂🤗
Darkness Prevails You can tell some scary stories. Please keep it up.
I have a great amount of respect for truckers as they have to risk their lives in crappy weather to deliver food and a lot of other things to people😊
Nice stories.
I'm the second thumbs up..
Lol yay!
Love u DP!
I love how the occasional trucker waves or honks their horn I remember when I fueled and a trucker honked . Feels nice to see other truckers who actually care
