6 games in 8 months... this quote is odd. Numerous Switch Editions AND DLC too.
@neonswift6 games? Mario kart world, DK bananza, kirby air riders, and hyrule... That's 5 games, 2 of which are racing games. Its very barren. I got the switch 2 early hoping to get the most out of it, but so far its been just corporate greed. The dlc? Sure... Most of it wasnt even worth it.
I look at my friends who have other consoles, and sometimes I wonder if I am just plain stupid justifying spending 70-90 for one game, especially just enhanced editions, when my friends are buying whole libraries with that price.
No, switch 2 isnt worth unless you i) don't have a switch ii) die hard fan iii) are mega rich and can justify exhorbitant prices + expensive dlcs releasing before the release of the actual game. That is criminal.
I miss the time when companies tried to put in the most to their product, not the bare minimum. The switch 2, albeit a premium experience, has felt the bare minimum.

The game key cards are because Nintendo cartridges wouldn’t be able to fit these big games unless they made carts with more data on them and then would have to charge more. Me personally? I prefer digital media. I like being able to switch games non stop without removing them and also I like being able to say hey I want this game. Buy it, download it and play it not even an hour later without ever leaving my couch or even stop playing games. With that said. I don’t think physical media should go away at all. I just prefer digital but also prefer having a choice
@Gar@GaryInHellexactly. The Game Key cards are because Switch 2 carts only come in 64GB. Problem either that is 64GB is too big for all games. So Nintendo told developers to use the switch 1 carts that come in various sizes. However switch 2 games don’t have that option. An indie developer is not going to buy a $20 64GB cart when their game is only $10. It would make the physical $30 for example. Nintendo was looking into making various sizes but now we have a memory shortage so who knows when that will happen.
I will not buy digital media because I have no trust in these companies to eventually take it away so they can charge a lot more.

Nintendo loves playing catch up. I rather just get it for PS5 or PC just for performance and a better time.
There are still people getting excited about it though - granted most of that I'm seeing is from Nintendo RUclipsrs and their channels where they are either living under the rock or want to desperately justify their purchase.
Would be more excited about ports if they came in actual carts, at least indiana jones is gonna be a proper one.

To be fair, some of the controversy around the new Tomodachi Life is actually about the gameplay itself: Nintendo made a statement that there would be no online sharing of your creations with others. While this may seem understandable given what the internet does, it was also something of a staple of the 3DS game. Many people would share their Miis online via Reddit, Twitter, and even a wiki of Miis based on pop culture references that you could use to add to your island. With the expanded customization options in the new game, people are pretty disappointed that it may not be possible to share Miis at all.
It's not just that sharing MII's have been a huge part of mii culture since there introduction. Removing it is wrong it is Removing a core aspect of miis literally.
I was gonna say. I thought people were complaining about the non-binary Miis. Even though Nintendo had actually plan this since 2013.
But yeah. The no online sharing is a bummer.
@I_EaTApple I don't know about non-binary miis per se, but Nintendo was indeed planning gay relationships, I just don't see why one side complaning about something is ok but the other side complaining about something else isn't, considering the inclusion of gay relationships to begin with was a result of backlash.
Thing is they could quite easily just implement a code system where instead of a QR, a code is generated based on the Mii’s features (meaning two identical miis would have the same code) so that people can still connect and share, and the player could type it in on the Mii creation menu to import the Mii to their island. But that makes too much sense. They’d rather cut the feature entirely.
it's also super disappointing not to be able to trade mii designs n stuff back and forth with your friends 😔

Because the game key card complaints are getting old. It’s better than digital only, and on ps5 and Xbox you have to download the games to your ssd to play them anyways. It’s not like it’s running straight off the disc like it did back during the ps3 and 360 days.
@SuperCaveman16 discs still hold the game files on the disc itself you can play most from start to finish from what's on the disc and cannot do the same with the game key card if you happen to be offline.
@gamingedition5165Yes you absolutely can because the key card acts as the license for the game, and the switch has always supported playing digital titles without an internet connection. You only need internet connection to launch the game for the first time.
It's been close to a year since Splatoon Raiders was announced and we haven't heard so much as a peep.
