My company’s day of coordinators are working three months before every wedding and then finalizing details one month before so that the DAY OF the wedding, we can perfect it. Don’t get sucked into the “day of” status. There is about 5-10 hours of administrative work before any “Day of Coordinator” event. I contact vendors, create a timeline and have multiple meetings with the bride etc. I believe renaming us a month of coordinator would spook brides away from the reasonable cost that we can offer vs. a “month of” or full wedding coordinator status. Just my opinion.

A Day of Coordinator can usually be brought in around 60 days out from a Wedding to Coordinate things that go on "Day Of" ...., But also Overseeing site visit, planning, vendor communication and pre-coordination, project management etc etc. So I dont really understand why you are saying not to hire a Day of Coordinator specifically over a Month of Coordinator. Essentially the same thing.

what TIME tool do you use on the day of the wedding? Do you set your phone alarm from time slot to time slot?

I wish that more clients would understand this. The moniker of "Day of " is SO annoying.
