My guess on why they play the Kiriko as the second support, is because they have good survivability. One of the best counters for Pharmercy is to ignore them and pressure out the other support. Doing so forces the Mercy to either ignore the other support and let them die or leave their pocket to help. Kiriko with her Tp, Suzu, and very slim hitbox has great survivability. Not to mention they are just a powerful character in general.
Underrated. 'Pharmercy is so OP." "Pharmercy takes no skill". You don't get Haku's PoV, but it is not "easy" to keep up with a Pharah that is all over the place like YZNSA is. All it takes is for one bad GA, you're on cooldown, pharah's in the skybox or behind a wall and you're now stranded. Mercy isn't 'hard' persay, but her skill ceiling isn't anywhere near where people think it is.

Haku could perform just as well (if not better) on other characters if the team comp called for it. 9:50 the reason they play Kiri is actually because they know how to counter a strong Pharmercy/Echomercy comp, and the Kiri pick specifically is to negate this weakness. The best way to actually deal with a high skill flyer comp like Pharmercy, is to go hard dive and just focus on taking the 5v3 fight on the ground before the Pharah (or Echo) can do enough damage to any single target. Vs full dive, the Pharah / Echo get less value because there aren't any targets to easily spam out or predict, no clumped up groups of enemies, no chokes to hold. Going Pharah vs a Winston Tracer Sombra comp is just aids. This is why the Kiri is picked, she supports the people on the ground against dive burst with her Suzu, and she herself has TP so she can't be directly dove upon either (normally in anti Pharmercy comps you target the support alone on the ground, as the Mercy is focused on the Pharah and can't be 2 places at once), so Kiri's TP lets her escape any dive easily, and her Cleanse keeps JQ and the other DPS on the ground from going kaboom too if they get hard focused - at least keep them up for long enough that the Pharah / Echo can find value and flip the fight advantage. JQ is pretty self reliant with her shout, so Kiri only really has to focus on healing 1 target at a time, which is what she excels at. So their comp cover all potential weaknesses, and basically means the enemy team has to be extremely well coordinated or have busted hitscan players to level the playing field.
I just recently started watching more OW on youtube and would see top play compilations of yznsa on pharah and thought he was just a regular streamer and didn’t know he was a pro 😭 He’s so fkn good

Obviously its best to shoot at the mercy and GMs know this but mercy is very mobile and they know how to play out of your los so its almost as pointless as shooting the pharah. At least shooting the pharah removes her as a threat since its just providing ult charge for you. The better weakness to exploit is their other support since their support has to heal a tank and a dps it makes them a highly valuable target and since you are consistently shooting the pharah, the mercy has to be with pharah at all times.

Pharah mercy duo is so cancerous, especially if they know how to stay hidden and take advantage of the damage boosted rocket with no falloff. It also doesn’t help that the hitscan counters have to suffer damage falloff and are the ones receiving nerfs. Even Widow can no longer deal with them effectively past 60m. She’s probably the one that’s gonna get counter sniped by the Pharah at that point. I hope they rework this hero to be a closer range diver character like the soldier from TF2, to make her encounters more manageable. She’s the only hero that actually forces a hard counterswap, which I thought was what the devs wanted to change about OW2’s balance philosophy. Even encounters like Dva v Zarya or Dva v Winton can be played around, but Pharah is completely unreachable by most Tanks and projectile users it’s actually annoying.

Wow I really think that KSAA has been very important here, when it came to any brawl the second he would die would be the second that everyone else would go falling like dominos. Ffs YZNSA wasted his ult just to cleanse the mercy rez for KSAA before she was EMP'd.
If anything he proves the opposite. He's played far more Echo than Pharah in the World Cup, and the main reason KSA is winning so much is because all their players are cracked and they have great synergy as a team. They have the freedom of playing into their individual strengths while still working a solid team comp. It's called skill, not hero diff.

Torb burst is similar to Cass but less consistent because Torb is projectile not hitscan

If anything he proves the opposite. He's played far more Echo than Pharah in the World Cup, and the main reason KSA is winning so much is because all their players are cracked and they have great synergy as a team. They have the freedom of playing into their individual strengths while still working a solid team comp. It's called skill, not hero diff.

@@domokuo6318 Mercy is the problem and always has been. Pharah by herself is mid. Pharah with a mercy pocket is a broken mechanic that has no place in the game and never should've been there. It's actually infuriating the nerfs that have come down from Blizzard since 2016 to destroy certain heroes, yet PharMercy has never been touched.
