I invite you to hike to Furmanov Peak.
Furmanov Peak is named after the Soviet revolutionary D.A. Furmanov.
The height of Furmanov Peak is 3053 m; the time to approach the peak will depend on your speed. In general, the climb is not too great, but due to the length of the path it can be classified as moderate in difficulty. The hike in both directions takes 14-15 km. At a sporting pace, you can reach the peak in 3 hours; a hike with a group takes about 4-5 hours, taking into account rest stops and small photo sessions.
The route to the peak passes through the Kim-Asar gorge.
The path starts from Medeo, where you can get there by public bus or car.
Bus number 12 runs every half hour from the Kurmangazy - Dostyk stop. If you are using your own transport, you will have to leave it in the parking lot next to Medeo or a little higher behind the eco-post. Entrance and entry into the Kimasar tract near Almaty became paid from January 27, 2023. Payment is 545 tenge.
Start of the trail
From the Medeo skating rink, on the right side of the road you need to walk down about 50 meters, you will see a road that goes to the right and up into the mountains. We turn onto this road; after 1 km of ascent the asphalt will end.
Landmarks: along the road on the right side there is a river flowing along a concrete bed, and there are also tables and benches for rest. At the end of the asphalt, on the left side you will see several residential buildings surrounded by a high fence.
We go to the right along the road past these houses, and the asphalt gives way to the usual off-road, cross the bridge and move up the path.
The trail first passes through popular clearings for picnics, then it leads us between a cliff on the right side and a rock on the left. Soon after this, you will come out into a wide valley, a view of Furmanovka will open up, where it seems that the top is still so far away... Having gone further, deep into the valley, you need to turn along a barely noticeable path to the left, onto the ridge.
Note:
In this part of the trail you need to be very careful not to miss the turn, so move away from talking, taking photos, etc. in the background, peer into the slope on the left side and you will definitely notice how a small path goes first up and then to the left, traversing to the ridge.
Further, a well-trodden path will take you up the ridge, almost to Furmanovka itself,
named Sergei.

Seryoga is not the only hermit in these mountains. There are others, they live in dugouts. The stories of these people are very similar. Divorce from his wife, failed career - and they found themselves superfluous in “civilization.”
The main highlight of the hike, besides the incredible views of the mountains and the city panorama, is the Heavenly Swing.
The sky swing was installed at an altitude of 2500 m specifically for atmospheric photos. In the photographs you will look as if you are flying higher than the mountains themselves. For interesting photos, girls can take a flowy dress with them and get incredibly picturesque photos.
Furmanovka is crowned by two hills located next to each other at a distance of 50m. There are also stone tours at the top, marking it.
What to do if you are already on Furmanovka, but are not very tired yet:
• Climb to the Panorama
The climb from Furmanovka to Panorama takes an average of 30-45 minutes, but this is more like a feat, because Furmanovka takes quite a lot of energy when climbing. For such a feat you will see one of the most wonderful views of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains, it’s not for nothing that this place is called Panorama.
DESCENT
You can go down the same way you went up. But if you still have the energy and time, then you can do a Small Around the World: through Panorama go to Bashuta Peak, then to Chimbulachka Peak, then through the Talgar Pass to Chimbulak and from there go down by cable car to Medeo. But first make sure that the cable car is working and it is not disabled due to technical work. This was the case on the day of my ascent to Furmanov Peak. The cable car didn't work.

Отличный маршрут до Фурмановки. Да, это один из стандартных туристических маршрутов, не требующих особой подготовки. Однако, по моему личному мнению, это сложнейший из «простых» туристических маршрутов выходного дня.

Совершенно верно. Хоть подъем и небольшой, но из-за своей протяженности маршрут приравнен к средней степени тяжести. Мой первый поход в горы и такая нагрузка 👍 я чуть не офигела 😂 зато сразу стало ясно, что нужно однозначно брать экипировку: бутсы. Спасибо тебе за компанию и бутсы! Выручила!
