I agree. From the angle we can see here, it is very close & looks like a legal pass. It was much closer to being legal than Fred's run in the finals & they did not DQ him. Unfortunately, much like we saw in Sedalia in '92, Nashville in '89, & Louisville in '90, politics played an large role in determining when to enforce strict rules in points series events.
Still pretty wild to think about how competitive Bigfoot 8 still was at this time. Dan Runte really blossoming into a great driver during this time too
