My mother and I have been traveling together forever. She is now handicap and this is the first time seeing a complete tour of a handicapped room. Thank you soo much!!! 👍💗
Thanks !! that's exactly what we ran into when we decided to start cruising again. Literally, no info on handicap cabins, excursions, cruising info. that's what prompted us to start this RUclips channel 1-1/2 yrs. ago.
Thank you so much. I'm a travel agent who just got my first client with mobility concerns, and this video was SO helpful. I can't thank you enough, I'll be sharing this with my client so she knows what to expect on her trip.
These are so helpful when deciding where to go and what to do! My daughter was disabled at 15 and now at 26 demands to be as independent as possible. The detail in the doors and bathroom literally help me decide where to stay!
Really enjoyed the tour of cabin , it looked very well organised for someone who is disabled , without spoiling the style , which can happen with some accessible rooms .Thanks x
As usual, you gents rock! I always appreciate the tours of the handicapped rooms - I hate to be surprised when I board!! This one looked especially well thought-out. Loved the scooter charging station!
Good idea to bring an extra plastic card with you, so you don't have to use your sail & sign card. We were gonna bring our AARP card from home, but forgot....so we used our extra casino card.
That cabin is super nice. I love NCL I went this May 2018 and stayed on the Escape in a studio cabin the ship went to Bermuda and it was the best trip ever. However the thing that was frustrating but I do understand the reason behind what they did. Whenever you are not in your room and you have things charging they will unplug your phone, etc...To prevent fires but it can be frustrating. The thing I loved the most about my studio room was the bathroom was separate from the shower. Even though it was a small room it was large if that makes sense. It was amazing cleaned my room two times a day and didn't even use the clean room light. NCL is in another class when it comes to service. I wish they would outfit all rooms with faux hardwood floors and mood lights then it would make it super dope.
I think they're headed that way with the decor. Our ship was so modern, elegant and upscale. Even though they are supposed to unplug everything.......our cabin steward NEVER touched our stuff.
Great video and very informative. I like the suggestion of the extra card. I've been trying to figure out how to get around this. We keep out cards on the lanyard so we can grab and go and I see one of us leaving it behind. Can I offer a suggestion on these types of videos......with love of course???? When adding the music it does help the video but it was a bit too loud and distracting away from what you were saying at times. Not sure if you can control the volume or not but just a suggestion. I do love all your videos and have watched them all at least three times. :)
We try to keep the music as low as possible...but it seems after it is uploaded to RUclips...the music seems louder. And of course, everyone's speakers are different.
Great tour! We'll be sailing on the Bliss in Feb 2019. How wide is the opening of the bathroom door. Can you get a standard wheelchair through it? I'm wondering if we should bring an additional walker.
Yes....there is a bed bunk hidden up into the ceiling (new ships do this now, must be unlocked by your cabin steward) . If you stop the video at the 1:15 time stamp......you will see above the twin bed on the right.....a darker frame in the ceiling, with a round metal lock. That's the drop down bed. Also, the Bliss deck plans confirm this.
Do you have advice for what happens with tranfer to life boats. My friend is a wc is worried about how he evacuated from an electric chair. He can not tranfer on his own.
Whoa loved this video - maybe now my mom will go with my family - pleas do more of these as detailed - they NCL did a great job with the bathroom - I hope this video gets 1,000,000 likes ❤️👍👌🏻🤩🇵🇷
It was an inside cabin. Barely enough room for me in my wheelchair to move about. I have a foldable manual wheelchair, which made it easy to fold up and set aside, when i was on the bed or in a chair. 2 mobility scooters in that cabin ? I really don't think so.
@@Cruisingwithwheels ugh - we sail on Sat. I called NCL and they said there was enough room. They also said that we could ask the room steward to store one, but that would be a nightmare coordinating getting it back when we want it. It's frustrating because the inside accessible cabins on the Pearl and Sun are huge! Grrr. Thanks so much for doing this video.
Do you know how many sq ft the room is? Also does it look like there is room if you plugged your scooter in near the door could you leave it there and still get out the door?
Not sure the square footage. You can plug your scooter in the outlet near the door....but as you can see....the door opens inward, so the scooter would be in the way.
I can add some info here, Kevin. I had this same layout cabin on the Breakaway (13439-I2 Category) while travelling with a mobility scooter. Unfortunately, the scooter really didn't fit. :( The Access Officer onboard was kind enough to relocate me to an Oceanview Accessible cabin (at no charge!) which worked much better. I was lucky there was something else available, so folks shouldn't count on that option! That said, I believe there ARE Inside Accessible Cabin configurations on the Breakaway and Breakaway-plus class ships that WILL work for someone with a scooter based on photos I've seen - I think it is the IA Category. PS Welcome home to you & Frank! Can't wait for the vlogs! :) Best, Patti
That’s what it looked like great cabin but smaller than the NCL Escape and Getaway plug for scooter was about 10 feet from door and didn’t impede getting out the door at all.
Frank and Kevin is it practical in this type of room to have the bed converted into a a queen/king? For married couples like you guys? Your thoughts and thanks. Take care.
I'm not sure of your question......but the rooms always come as twins and our reservation always has a set-up for 1 king. Everytime we get in....they are never together & we have to get the cabin steward to fix it.
Yeah, you can have any configuration you want. Funny story......After we told our cabin steward, Max, that we needed them put together as a king.......we got back to the cabin after dinner and of course it was done. The next day, while Max was in our cabin.....he and Kevin were chatting away and he referred to me as Kevin's brother !? Kevin said, " No, he's my husband ". I was like.....your brother ???? Now why would we have our beds put together if we were brothers ??? Silly !!!!
Great video! I hope you will consider submitting the video to cruisedeckplans.com so other people can check out the cabin, as well as your RUclips channel! 😉😉😉❤

That's awesome Katie !! This is exactly why we do what we do.....glad to be able to help others.
Best handicapped cabin ever.. Thanks for the tour.. I know you two must have enjoyed this very well thought out space.. 💜💜😎
We loved the room.
These are so helpful when deciding where to go and what to do! My daughter was disabled at 15 and now at 26 demands to be as independent as possible. The detail in the doors and bathroom literally help me decide where to stay!
You're very welcome !!
You guys worked really hard for us. Thanks for sharing.
That's because we love all you guys !!!
Thank you so much for the information, we will be sailing on NCL in September.
Nice !! Us too. We'll be on the NCL Escape in Sept.
Really enjoyed the tour of cabin , it looked very well organised for someone who is disabled , without spoiling the style , which can happen with some accessible rooms .Thanks x
It really was a well layed out cabin.
Beautiful bath. Thank you for showing it to us.
Yes...everything was very upscale.
Hello Kevin ~!! Gorgeous room and thanks for your thorough explanation of all it's features.
Thanks Acappella !
As usual, you gents rock! I always appreciate the tours of the handicapped rooms - I hate to be surprised when I board!! This one looked especially well thought-out. Loved the scooter charging station!
We thought this was an excellent inside handicap cabin.
Hi Kevin and Frank. Thank you for the great tour!
You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed!!
Thanks for the tour of the cabin.
Welcome.....more cabin tours coming !
They did a great job in the room!
Awesome video. That is a way bigger and better designed accessible cabin than the last one I have.
It was very nice !
Nice room. Neutral and comfortable
It was !!! The entire ship was very upscale, modern....neutral tones, lots of textured wall treatments.
Thank you so much for this thorough tour!!!
Glad you enjoyed it !!
Great video! Thanks for pointing out USB charger underneath light switches. I can imagine never even seeing them:)
I know right !!! They are so small....you'd never know they were there.
Loved the tour! The room looked beautiful!
Thanks Cheryl...it was !!
Beautiful cabin. Love your tour. Thanks!
Thanks Margaret !!
great info Kevin. when we were on the bliss in New York I had to ask somebody how to get the lights to work. had no idea about the room card.
Good idea to bring an extra plastic card with you, so you don't have to use your sail & sign card. We were gonna bring our AARP card from home, but forgot....so we used our extra casino card.
great idea. didn't think to do that !
Cruising with wheels So any plastic card you have would work?
Any plastic card that is the shape of a credit card.
Thanks for the tour
Welcome !
These cabins are awesome
This cabin was ours during the sailing and is a handicap accessible room.
Great cabin tour Kevin !
Thanks Helen !
Very nice!
Thanks Lorraine !

Waoo, beautiful cabin, thank you for the tour 😁
You're welcome !
Very nice! It looks like they thought of everything. I wonder is there a big difference in the handicapped accessible outside cabins?
Not sure about that.
Great video and very informative. I like the suggestion of the extra card. I've been trying to figure out how to get around this. As wide as the main cabin door....I rolled right through !
How awesome!
Yes....a beautiful cabin.
The cabin looks great a much needed assurance for anyone with a disability that enjoys traveling.
Yes, it was awesome !!
Does this room accommodate 3 guests??? If it does, will the 3rd bed be located.... Thanks for this great video
If I remember correctly....it had a drop down ceiling bunk bed.
Cruising With Wheels thanks for your reply
Hi Kevin. Hey do you know the streaming Bean? I think he was on your cruise.
We talk to him online.....but I don't think he was on our cruise.
Great video
Thanks !
Do you think a short, 5’ 4” woman could reach the shampooin the shower? They look too high for me. Thanks! Loveall your videos.
Yes Nancy....very reachable.
So much fun :)
It was !!
Are you able to access the elevators from the center corridor or do you need to go along the corridor on the port side?
The center is a dead end. So port side it is. It really was a great location in our opinion. VERY quiet and private!
love the room but it doesn't look like there is enough room to have a scooter in there, what is your opinion on this?
It was a little cramped.....smaller than some other handicap accessible cabins we've been in.
oh! another question, i don't see a bed for a third in room... was there one?
Yes....there is a bed bunk hidden up into the ceiling (new ships do this now, must be unlocked by your cabin steward) . If you stop the video at the 1:15 time stamp......you will see above the twin bed on the right.....a darker frame in the ceiling, with a round metal lock. That's the drop down bed. Do you have advice for what happens with tranfer to life boats. My friend is a wc is worried about how he evacuated from an electric chair. He can not tranfer on his own.
All wheelchair / scooter guests are assigned special needs crew members, that are responsible for handling the guests in case of an evacuation.
Great video! I may just have to take a trip on the Bliss.
Gorgeous ship !
Whoa loved this video - maybe now my mom will go with my family - pleas do more of these as detailed - they NCL did a great job with the bathroom - I hope this video gets 1,000,000 likes ❤️👍👌🏻🤩🇵🇷
Yes, the cabin and bathroom were very tastefully done. Even the public handicap bathrooms were awesome. Very upscale and modern.
Thank you! Is there enough room in the cabin for 2 mobility scooters? Do you know if this room in the Joy is similar?
It was an inside cabin. Barely enough room for me in my wheelchair to move about. I have a foldable manual wheelchair, which made it easy to fold up and set aside, when i was on the bed or in a chair. 2 mobility scooters in that cabin ? I really don't think so.

Cruising with wheels ok, so a bigger bed is an option.
Part of my question was are you restricted to two twins.
Thanks
Yeah, you can have any configuration you want. This will make it in Frank's Tales for sure... Lol
With all of the counting I feel like I’m in the midst of a Sesame Street review
Learning is everything !!
Congrats to NCL for such a well designed cabin
It was very nice.

Thanks Shannon !!! This video and many others are on cruisedeckplans.com
