DADA Ensemble performs FAME at the Apollo Theater

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and the Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA) partnered for ‘Keeping the Promise’-1,000,000 Lives in Care-Celebrating ICONS of Dance on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the legendary Apollo Theater. Our DADA Ensemble performed this piece, choreographed by Terry Beeman, in tribute to Gene Anthony Ray and the Boys of FAME.
The evening honored the talents of:
▪ Gene Anthony Ray and the boys of FAME
▪ Alvin Ailey
▪ Michael Peters
▪ Michael Bennett
▪ Ulysses Dove
▪ Rudolf Nureyev
and included a special tribute to the legendary Arthur Mitchell, Co-Founder, Dance Theater of Harlem
This powerful event used the arts to educate and empower attendees on the work yet to be done to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Wow! What memories! Nice job. Being an old head though, I can truly feel a difference in the vibe. These kids seem like they’re working and focusing a bit too hard instead of enjoying themselves and dancing with fun and reckless abandon. I miss that. C’mon guys, YOU GOT THIS!
