I like this idea. Skiing is about personal style and modern freestyle feels robotic and sterile. Extremely high caliber talent but no room for expression.
Reminds me of a comp I watched years ago on Outside TV. A bunch of riders went out in the backcountry for a weekend, rode lines all day and then collectively voted on the winners at the end. Forget what it was called but this is such an exciting opportunity to show style and creativity
Reminded me of Alan Wooldridge's book. "Aristocracy of talent" If only all competition could have such a meritocratic approach, the world would be a very different place.
I think this should've been the obvious better way to hold these events since when you watch someone you dont just watch them do one trick and count the number of rotations and how they grab and give them a score you just watch what they do and think damn, that looks cool probably one of the best trick-nerds out there
Give back the sports to the people! This is fantastic! There's no modern sport which isn't ruined by corporations with financial incentives over all else. These guys really care for what they do and it show. This is already looking better than the X games have ever
As a futurist, I love where your heads at. As an older head- who stopped riding park in 02’ at the age of 14 - I’m blown away by how far the sport has progressed since then. What was considered massive at the X Games back then is what I see the teens stomping routinely w/ ease while pros like yourself have advanced the sport to 2-3x where it was even two decades ago.
I agree, the progression of the sport is super insane/inspiring and I am sure that this next generation is going to blow past any expectation that we have with ease, Looking foward to seeing it.
@@AlexHackelNetwork yeah, it’ll be fun to watch, and it’ll be fun to watch you guys help set the stage for that evolution of the sport. Wish you all the best in your future ✌️
I love how Ferdi realized that now he is one of the pro skiers who can make a change in freestyle skiing and he did it❤
Ferdi is a boss!
just the fact that participants are also judges changes the whole competition mindset
I agree rider judged is super sick!

yeah so nice with room for more expression.
This is what the skiing world has needed for years. Thankfully it’s finally here

Got so many chills, the synergy between style and soundtrack is beautiful. Subbed
I love this. Expression, community. Everything that a creative sport should be

How cool is this. Take it back to the riders! IT has this 2000 vibe, this video.
I agree!

Not my lane of skiing but glad it's being supported in such a cool way. Great vid Alex and team keep up the good work!
This is a genius way to create a competition! I love it!
So sick!! Jib League Let's us freeskiers decide our own future!! :D
Everything is so perfect. Its all so clean and smooth compared to what they are doing in the Xgames
This is what freeskiing needs!
We need this in skateboarding
it brings me great excitement for the future of the sport
Yup! Something to look forward to
Awesome initiative, thank you👍

Thank you I appreciate that!

Love the vid
Joel the guy in the lightning pants is actually Joel Körkkö not and not Joel Kristian. Kristian is just his second name.
🔥🔥🔥
In 20 years, skis will have the shape of helicopter blades and drones will struggle to follow athletes fading into the clouds

Thank you!

There is women at the event who compete, at the moment though everyone competes in one catagory and there is not a separate men's and women's category

Thanks for the support!
hi
Hello 😊
@@AlexHackelNetwork doing good
figure skating had the same issue. Noone cares about figure skating "competitions", people watch the exhibition
idk why but the ski poles ruin it for me. most of all they look ugly in the air. secondly, as someone who skateboarded i can't imagine using my hands.
7:07 song is trash asf
ya'll need to credit snowboarding wayyyyyyy more
