It's an ess dac with 211mw into 32ohms, so it's not the Burr Brown, if I find out the series of ess dac will let you know. The output supports s-balanced, don't know what that is, maybe you need an adapter
Great review! Nice feature set and form factor. I will buy one as a backup to my Zen DAC and before the price may rise. Good value overall! Thank you & Happy Holidays!
Great review video. I'm actually watching it with the audio going through the Uno (then RCA output to Edifier MR4 active speakers) and it sounds great. I've also listened through B&W PX5 headphones which sound equally as good. I also listen to High Res Audio via Qobuz and the difference is astonishing; this little DAC really punches above its weight. It is an absolute steal for £79 (UK). I do wish IFI AUDIO would outline the differences between their products though as they have a few that are roughly the same price and it would be good to know the differences and which one would be best for what purpose. Fabulous products though.
Hello friend. I bought IFI UNO. Have you ever experienced that when you connect to a computer, there is a short-term crackling sound in the headphones? Like static? And there are small clicks when switching tracks. Was it like this for you?
Can this one be used with just the iPhone? Or will it not function properly if it draws too much power from the iPhone? I would like to just use it with my iPhone for Apple Music Lossless.
@@jubilant_ear_reviews thx so much for the fast response. Glad to hear that it is working with the iPad. Then I think it should work the same with the iPhone.
@@jubilant_ear_reviewshi, My UNO doesn’t connect with the iPhone, using the lighting to USB-C cable (which came with the iPhone) ? What adapter do I use ??
is the eq part of this worth it? how would u compare this to the zen dac v2? should i go for this if i were to game, and listen to music as well? Also which headphone would you recommend i pair this with? Im looking at the hifiman xs,ananda , sundara and 900x pro by beyer
@@jubilant_ear_reviews thanks for the reply! Would it be an audible improvement over the apple dac if u happen to know? My listening volume has never been over 40 with eq Edit : typo
@Loops Brother it would definitely get louder , apple uses good chipsets so I personally use a dongle or external dsc with my iPad, plus the physical EQ is really a nice feature
The EQ presets are a very enjoyable feature, it also supports an inline microphone, and this can drive full sized headphones excellent as well as a sensitive IEM
This is a simple device, serves it purpose in the chain , the air has Bluetooth but for the cost this one sounds great. I like both but I would not recommend it over the Air because it's different.
@@jubilant_ear_reviews so I am currently using a Sennheiser hd560s, I would be using this for primarily gaming..but with my specific headphones which would give me the highest quality sound?
@Pol I tried it that way too just now , apparently ifi products aren't working anymore on it , it's weird 😐 The Fosiaudio k5 pro , still works fine . I'm going to have to test everything over again now , I'll do a video on what works and what doesn't anymore
The problem with mqa is no control over how it's implemented from the mqa guys, so the quality in actual practice varies wildly. Some people say it's no good, they are using a machine that only 'unfolds' two or four times, like most machines, even high end stuff usually only goes to eight times, and you need sixteen times unfolding for it to be 'master quality' . People just put 'mqa' on the box, as with this unit. So it's the fault of the mqa codec owners sloppy business practices which is the downfall of what is actually a very good format for streaming, maybe the best.
@@jubilant_ear_reviews Then it theoretically should work on PS4/5. But can you please try it on PS4? I want to buy Uno as dac for playstation so I want to be sure. Much appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for the review, surprisingly few out! Have one on the way for desktop DAC usage
Update: using it as DAC, sounds great, clear and neutral (eq doesn't work with RCA out). Comparable to my Topping E30, worth every penny.

The air DAC unless you're using it for gaming

The eq works it gives a tasteful boost, my favorite one to use us the music. The beauty of this is the cost to performance
should i get this for shp9500 or too much of an overkill

More towards lively and rich , less neutrality but details are good
