Probably my most favourite aircraft, there is something about its appearance that makes it such a joy to fly. Just a shame it costs over 16K to repair each time.
I've killed quite a few Fireflies using that gun pod. I'm not sure if its a glitch or something, but the 50's can go right through the back of its turret.
Nope not a glitch, irl the firefly is just a modified Sherman that the brits put a 17 pounder in, but the gun wouldn’t fit, so they cut a hole in the back of the turret to make it fit, and put a thin box around the hole 👍
Although it is technically possible, the top of the radio box in the sherman vc is 28mm thick while the bullets have 30mm of penetration. They also have to go through the radio and all of this at an angle and at a distance which is probably (hopefully) further than 10m, which means that there is probably some war thunder logic going on there. The "thin box" is 50-63mm thick on the sides, so I'm not entirely sure what the comment above mine is alluding to. I'm not sure that it should be possible for the bullets to pen, but I guess it's a bonus
Fond memories using this, I once got a 2km snipe on a BV using this beast, it took most of the gunpod and normal ammunition but the fun of using what was essentially a laser (FREEDOM LAZER) is always worth it

12.7 is like the beginning of aircraft calibers. The 762s on airacobras are only good for ground and very soft targets

Dont forget, the 6 .50s mounted in the wing are actually M3s so way faster fire rate. So you technically fire 18 .50s worth of ammo.
