Just thought I’d also mention, on my insert the grommets are on the back of the insert which I specifically asked she do for mine, whereas the inserts on her websites have the grommets on the sides.

i have this too (beige clutch) and it is a great option. the chain on mine is not as pristine as it was 4 months ago when i bought it so i recommend storing it with the chain in the felt and not against the clutch. oh and the clutch has fallen down when i was walking and removing items to find others. thankfully inside my building but def did happen!
I was thinking the same. It's just a insert and it could easily slide out when you open the flap.
Maybe it could be a good idea to attach another little clasp to the D-ring that's already on the bag (for the wriststrap) I'm thinking that it could hold itself together better that way..? 🤷🏻♂️
I use the LYXBAGS as a work bag and have had no issues. It's a comfortable bag, has lots of room, and doesn't lose its shape. That being said, I also take care of all my bags and don't carry water bottles, pens, keys, or anything that could damage the interior.

I’m pretty sure KD’s dark gold is more like an antique gold. The ysl logo on the clutch is not antique gold :)

Hello! Have you noticed any wear from the chain rubbing on the sides?
Great idea! When you open the bag while wearing it on the chain with the insert, do you have to hold the bag in case the insert slides out? Or does it stay in place inside the bag?
I haven’t had any issues like that :) doesn’t slide out or anything like that. I find myself naturally hold the base of the clutch anyways when I’m trying to grab something out that’s fallen to the bottom.

Hi, Despina, what do you think after using it for a while, which grommets are better - at the back or at the side?
I can’t really comment on the grommets on the side because mine aren’t on the side, but I am glad I asked them to put it along the back so it doesn’t rub up against the folds in the leather
Nice video! Am tempted to get 1 too, but I'm wondering if the chain will rub against the sides of the clutch opening and thus hurting it in the long run? Any issue with yours so far?
No wear yet but honestly speaking due to covid I haven’t been able to wear it out very often so can’t really predict if it’ll happen or not. The YSL wallet of chains are designed in a familiar way where the chain rubs up against the corners which made be more confident in converting the clutch into a chain bag. I’m hoping that if their WOCs are designed this way there shouldn’t be too much wear on mine.

I’m the same height as you and want to get a strap for my YSL beige clutch I just purchased yesterday (yay!), but I want to wear it primarily as a cross body, do you think the 120cm or 130cm chain is better? Also do you think there’s a benefit/what’s the difference for having the grommets at the back or the side? Great vid - subscribed :)
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I think 130cm would be good, to get an extra 10cm chains drop as the 110 sits high on me. It’s up to personal preference. Maybe if you have a strap or chain laying around which is 130cm at home? Even if it doesn’t go with the clutch you can get a rough idea where it would sit on you :) .. I personally prefer it along the back so the grommets and chain aren’t resting on the sides however I’m not sure if she can customise her inserts anymore now that they’re public on the website. You can message her on the website and ask, she’s really lovely.

Personally I think the dark gold would be too dark and more of an antique gold. But you’re welcome to order it and return it if you don’t like it. Don’t want to give you the wrong advice

I’ve purchased from KDAustralia many many times, all my inserts and most chains are from her :) I’m just not sure if she ships internationally. They have a chat service on their website if you want to find out

I love it the black version with the different quilting like the white one I showed! I personally would’ve bought that one over mine but it came out after I bought my black one. I think it looks so classy. I actually went into the store on the weekend intending on buying the white but I actually fell in love with the dark beige uptown clutch and purchased that instead… the white is still on my wish list but I’m a little scared of colour transfer as I’m always in jeans and dark clothes.

I would be concerned with colour transfer especially when worn as a shoulder/crossbody bag. I think you made a good decision with the dark beige uptown, it's beautiful and practical. 😊

I’m very happy with the colour :) I think it matches really well and nice and shiny
I bought the strap from kdaustralia but it doesnt match the gold hardware of the clutch🤔 it’s too yellow gold.
It’s not an identical match as the chain isn’t made by YSL but I’m personally happy with it :) KDAustralia has an easy returns process if you’re not happy with the product
Is there additional charge when you asked them to do the grommets at the back? Is it better that way or the ones on the side? Thank you 😊
No charge, I just messaged them and asked for the grommets to be on the back. I personally prefer it that way so that the grommets are not up against the side of the clutch where the leather folders inwards.

I got the dark beige. I was initially going for the sea salt but they were out and your right color is not the same in person
How are you liking the colour? I really like it but also I like the white! :)
What length chain would you go for so you can wear it cross body? For your height etc
I’d prefer it to be just a little bit longer, so maybe even the 120cm so it’s an additional 5cm drop. I always pay for my items from KD via PayPal so that if I do have to return it, PayPal covers the postage back :) Or you could play around with chains/ straps you already own and even if it doesn’t go with the clutch, you at least know what length you like so you can order it xx hope this helped

You’re welcome 😁 so glad you liked it! I guess it’s totally up to what you prefer :) I’m pretty sure the interior of the beige clutch is already black anyways so the black insert would still work. I’m going to be using the same black insert for both clutches if I get the beige 🙂

How closely does the chain gold color matches the ysl logo?
I’m very happy with the colour match :)
They don’t match. The chain is bright gold while the ysl logo is in the darker shade of gold.

To be honest, I’ve used the clutch about 3 times so far as I haven’t gone many places fancy enough to use it. But so far still looks brand new, the peddled leather is holding up well
