- Walkaround first impressions and first ride footage. Maiden break-in run on my new 2023 Ski-Doo Summit Expert Gen 5 Turbo R 165. At Katchess Washington 11/27/2022. This was with 3% break-in done, 97% break in to go.
Enjoy that break in man!. Nice sled wow
Down to 80% after 2 rides. If I could get into some real deep powder riding the break-in would be done in just a couple more rides, but we just don't have it yet.
Sure is a Far Cry from my '73 Olympic 340 !!
Also costs a whole lot more. It's an amazing machine, but I guess we'll see if it was worth the cost of admission!
These g5 people are cracking me up this year 😂….
Looks like you should have went with the Mxz my friend.
Not enough snow to go off trail, not even close
Tighten up your limiter strap on the trail. You'll have way more control but I've never seen anybody sit down to ride up the mountain you'll have more control standing up?
It was all trail riding, if it was off trail I would have been standing. And as I said, the handling was excellent with the limiter strap long. That was the point - the handling and control were excellent, didn't even need a short strap. Shortening the strap takes away suspension travel, it's bad if you don't need it, and I didn't need it.
Where are you riding?
This was by Kachess lake in Washington
most guys would set the controls up before you ride it
Yeah I went straight from the dealership to the snow. Plenty of time to figure out the setup after the test run.
Along with all the usual first ride inspection and setup, adjusting proper ergonomics should happen immediately. Also, “first ride impressions” especially comments on rear suspension would be a lot more meaningful if you actually stood up.
@black bear nope just a guy who rides his mountain sleds in the mountains 1000 mile a season, standing up, to tune my suspensions.
this is not a sit down machine like you are riding it.
You can stand up on the trail if you like. For trail riding I sit. Not enough snow here for real off trail riding yet.
