Thank you very much, again. I requested this vídeo un your short version of the 10 Commandments, and then aooeared this video. I'm very pleased . So awesome listenning hebrew lesson about the wonderful and beatiful Almighty God's Law.
Thank you teaching us so clearly. I love it. This is also quite unique to see the Lord mentioned the deliverance of the people from being slaves in Egypt as part of the commandments.
I feel my whole being filled with the Holy Spirit of God as I listen to you reading through the scriptures in Hebrew. The Lord bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you and give you Peace 🌻
Wow finally after months of studying, I finally memorized it. My Hebrew vocabulary is now growing thanks to these. Looking forward to the next challenge. As I am memorizing these verses, I find these are flashing in my head as I go through the struggles of life.
Thank you for taking the time to make this available! My request is to put out a reading pace that's between the syllable by syllable and the normal pace. That would be very helpful. Thank you and God bless!
This is so helpful you wouldn't even know it! There's no other resources that has clear pronunciation syllable-by-syllable, with translation and also with Hebrew letters! I can learn Hebrew naturally with this and the other channel Alef with Beth and other vocabulary videos. Thank you so much for this!
An excellent and beautiful rendition, fantastic. Some minor points though: At 2:25, I think that the shewa of the mem in ולשומרי should be נע that is, pronounced. At 3:02, the tav of ואמתך has a shewa, which was incorrectly pronounced as a segol At 3:34, I think that the shewa of the Yod in ויקדשהו should be silent
Shalom and thank you for watching and learning with me, but you are incorrect in regards to all the points you mentioned: The shva in ולשומרי is a silent shva נח because of the shuruk vowel before it. The shva in ואמתך is a vocal shva נע. In my teachings, I do not differentiate between the sound of a segol (eh) to the sound of a vocal shva (eh) or between the sound of long and short vowels, as the difference in the pronunciation is just to subtle to worry about, especially for new students. The shva of the Yod in ויקדשהו, is a vocal shva because of the prefix וַ va before it.
@@TheWORDinHEBREW You misunderstood my first point: I wrote about the shewa of the mem, not the shewa of the lamed in the word ולשומרי Actually you DO distinguish nicely and correctly between a segol and a shewa-na. Listen to how you correctly read לא יהיה לך אלוהים in the second verse. Listen to your shewa in לך and the segol sound in אלוהים. They are obviously different as they should be. However in ואמתך you definitely read this as a segol on the tav, and you read that word emphasizing the penultimate syllable with the non-existent segol, instead of emphasizing the final consonant. All in all, you do read really nicely, which is why I listen to your readings and enjoy them. Sadly, the vast majority of instructional RUclips videos about reading Hebrew are horrible: they are more like how NOT to read than how to read. But your readings are a treat. Keep it up.
Sorry for misunderstanding what you meant about וּלְשֹׁמְרֵי. In the case of the shva on the mem, you are correct! It should be a vocal shva. I will make the correction in my prints, but to correct it in the video, I will have to record a new video. Maybe some day. The reason I have it as a silent shva is because no one says that word with a vocal mem, so in reality, even though the rules say it’s a vocal shva, most people and most Bible readers say it as silent. In any case, thank you for pointing it out 😉
Just purchased this teaching as a download. I have a newbie question. I learned the the word six as שש (sheysh) but you show it as ששת (sheh/sheh-t). Would you explain? Are there two different words for the number six?
@@mydailystitches Thank you for your purchase 😇 Good question 😉 “Sheshet” in Hebrew is a form of “six” used in specific grammatical contexts, such as when it is part of a construct phrase Example: שֵׁשֶׁת הַיָּמִים (sheshet ha-yamim) - “the six days.” In other words, “Shesh” is the base form, while sheshet appears when “six” is linked to another noun in a possessive or descriptive way. Hope this helps & God bless 🙏
@ Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. Yes, that was very helpful. I’m so happy I found your channel. Do you think you will ever offer the vocabulary study you offer as a download? I would have gotten that one as well but it appears to be only available as a mail option.
Glad I was able to help. My pronunciation chart is available for download here (on white) thewordinhebrew.com/products/hebrew-pronunciation-chart-pdf 😉
Not at the moment, but I can recommend someone. If you serious about it, email me to: contact@thewordinhebrew.com and let me know what are you hoping to get out of private Hebrew lessons and for what purpose? Blessings!
Question. I’m trying to learn from the print out I purchased from you and I am a new student learning Hebrew. I’m using your transliteration to help sound out the letters but also trying to read the Hebrew. I’m stuck at the beginning. I know the word for ten is eser (ץשך) but why is the tav on the end? Is there more of a phrase here that I’m missing?
@@TheWORDinHEBREW I can see that I have a lot to learn but am excited. I purchased your vocabulary sheet as well. It is by far the best help I have. It’s way better than my textbook.
Who can answer pls ? Were the 10 commandments only for Israelites within the Israelite community? Were the Israelis allowed to kill and rob all other nations, but just not their fellow Israelis??? Because we see that this was done in practice immediately after receiving the law on Zion and there was no negative reaction from God.
The Israelites, included a “mixed multitude” that followed them out of Egypt. See Exodus 12:38: ”mixed multitude also went up with them, and very much livestock, both flocks and herds.” So, the Mt. Sinai Law and the Ten Commandments were given to ALL the people who followed the God of the Bible, whether by blood or by faith. This means that the Law was given to sojourners, foreigners or in other words, gentiles that lived with the Israelites and followed God by faith. Killing all the other groups of people that were in the land and were worshiping other gods and living in sin, was GOD’s righteous act to claim that land for Israel according to His promises and according to His righteous ways, which we may not be able to fully understand. He wiped out the entire earth with the Flood in the time of Noah. He used the Israelites to wipe out the sinful, idolatry filled people and nations to fulfill His ultimate plan and promises to Israel.
My answer is no. The Ten Commandments were given to all followers of יהוה. Murder is not allowed. God gave them specific instructions on who and how and why to kill. Anything outside of that was not allowed and God punished those who crossed that line.
@TheWORDinHEBREW So only if G-d tels you to murder or kill is o.k, and if you do it on your own then is sin. Do you know how many ppl are in jail serving life sentance for murder and theyr exuse is : G-d told me to do it. If someone comes to you and tells you: My G-d told me to kill you and your family.....will you be o.k with that ?

Is this the same as you mentioned earlier with the number being associated with ‘the commandments’ therefore ten gets changed?
Yes, the word change according to the tense and context. In this case it the way it relates to the next word.
