Funny because I do similar stuff and family calls me a hoarder. I'm definitely nowhere near being a hoarder. I just recognize that certain things can be repurposed as opposed to being wasted.
Fascinating. Would love it if you and Red Green could do a team up episode. Today in Handyman's Corner, we teach you how to turn a Lada into a saw mill.
If you ever retry this experiment try dripping cutting oil (3 in 1) into the the initial grove to lubricate it enough for the motor to drag the cutter back and fourth
Wolfcritic64 you do know he’s translating...right? If the “colloquialisms” as you felt the need to label, bother you, it’s the Russian speaker saying those words in Russian.
After you cut in to the glass on both sides you can put methylated spirits on the cut line and light it, it will heat and soften the plastic film in the middle then you can break threw cleanly
yea if you know how to cut glass you dont need that lol something kids do in the shop till i see if and rip em a new one. watched a guy have a bottle blow up in his hands... now that was fun to watch.
Tip tho: Gravity ia not your friend. Even if you can lay your glass pane flat and horizontal, you need to keep an eye. What _can_ help in some situations, is retaining the spirit. For instance, soak wool thread and lay it over the cut. That way, less spirit runs all over, less chance of a fire, and wool don't burn well once the spirit is gone. You'll have more control over the spread zone you're heating. This is also useful for cutting glass bottles.
matt coady the point was to get the windshield wiper to cut it? So I don’t understand your first part of your statement. But the last part is hilarious 😂 hope he wasn’t too hurt.
When cutting windshields for chop tops we use lighter fluid like this. Not sure about blowing up a bottle in your hand, as you dont light when you're pouring
Vlad you the man. Making a lada windscreen from a mercedes windscreen. I would have never thought of that, since I don't own a lada. Translation by BMI english....
I wanted to suggest using super glue and baking soda. When baking soda is applied over super glue, the glue dries instantly into a hard plastic. It is good for carbon fiber repairs, and it is cheap. I used this method for bonding metals together and it worked for an outstandingly long time in one case, but broke eventually. However, I currently have a super glue / baking soda bond used to hold together a stripped out aluminum joint to a cargo carrier rack on the back of my bicycle, and it has not failed me in at least six months.
a guy i seen cut layered glas had cut both sides carefully cracked them then run lighter fluid across one side and light it , the heat and fire melts the plastic inner layer and stretches it giving you room to enter a rasor blade in between and cut the plasting film works best on a non curved window
Pretty much as expected but I thought the path of the wiper was interesting. Expected a continuous arc, wasn’t thinking about the single blade set up. Too late now but a shop rag under the wiper arm could have relieved some pressure from the tip of the marking tool. Folding the rag up to control thickness.
Need a cutting solution so it won't bind and will push the debris away. I used to cut through glass with circular Diamond tips using a cutting solution will cool the glass. It gets really hot and it will damage the diamond tip.
interesting demonstration of how tough old windshields are on modern cars windshileds can break within a 100km from the factory, I work in automotive repairs and at one shop they had 3-5 cars a week that where basically new, but due to weight savings they are just not as rugged as on older cars my skoda has many little dimples from rocks hitting it, but not a single crack in over 20 years I can't imagine that that little bit of better economy on fuel milage is worth replacing the windshield more frequently, or at all
Great content, i watch almost every video of yours.. we are wating for a new, cleaner and larger garage :D Keep up the good work and wish you the best succes !
IDEA: Could you please do a stunt where you tow a car and disconnect the front universal joint on the drive shaft of a rear wheel drive car, and see if the car catapults itself into the air. Thanks for a great channel.
i once saw a glass-cutter cut up a laminated pane. he scored the glass on both sides, then poured alcohol on it and set on fire to melt the plastic layer and broke it apart. mildly interesting.
1:10 in tank warfare, this is called spalling. For example, AP or HESH rounds split the metal. The energy goes through the layer of steel and causes pieces of metal on the inside to break loose and fly into the crew area. Scary thought for a windshield to do that.
I love this channel. These guys have great personalities and make creative content, doing stuff almost all car people wouldn't do. "Only in Russia" makes sense since there are plenty of cars to experiment on!
When will these guys run out of ideas? Unlike all the phone destruction channels, they keep coming up with ideas somehow...
Check out their Russian channels
EthaN they never will because they russian
Tech Rax has left the group
In Mother Russia you dont think of ideas, Ideas think of you!
Thunder Kunt we get it you tried weed one time. No one smokes weed anymore buddy.
I love how he doesn’t throw broken items away!! Instead he gives them a second life!! Pretty much for entertainment! 😊
He proves recycling can be fun!
@Lassi Kinnunen He's Russian, they dont give a fuck period.
Funny because I do similar stuff and family calls me a hoarder. I'm definitely nowhere near being a hoarder. I just recognize that certain things can be repurposed as opposed to being wasted.
It’s called hoarding
I think he reuses some as a dare... Funny guy indeed!
I want to see the look on the windshield Replacement guys face
Hahahaha!👋🤣👍for real!
In that kind the wiper motor shaft goes thru the windshield plus the glue around it...I'll love to see that face too
“What the hell happened?”
@@gregorycarter9352 "the wiper scratched my windshield" :(
I find funny how the actual Russian guy sounds so chill whereas the translator sounds as insane as the memes lol
Starting the engine also adds power to the windshield wiper
Apply oil to the cutter.
It's a self oiling cutter, the handle is full of oil
The hand make one isn't, that is way it got stuck.
And turn the car on, voltage too low on the wiper.
Ha 69th like

I forgot about your channel. Dunno why I never subbed. I want to start a vlog with my 01 raptor this year. Hoping it stays in 1 piece.

It has oil in the barrel of the cutter. What he got is a commercial glass cutter!
commercial would be a cnc or a strip cutter that only 12$
the whole time im thinking... HIT the washer fluid button
dan johnson omg me too
The narrator on these is the best
He grates on me... too many colloquialisms. "ain't" and "this here" make me grimace.

Guy yes he is. Not everyone is up to his particular intellectual level though, us tiny brains just giggle and eat boogers.
PF_Cactus he has to account for idioms, and slang terms, those don’t always translate for for dot.
Lol who thinks of this stuff?!?! Love it!! I get hyped when I get a garage 54 alert!! And I'm not even a car guy :) just a garage 54 guy :p
offroad car on a budget?
6:14 sounds like pacman
In 2019, a windshield wiper and a glass cutter are the same thing :)
not in my world
Thats funny
These days I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually did think that
You need some new wipers....
hahaha...
Never seen a car with one wiper blade before.
There are lots of car that had one wiper. Think it's more of a European thing.
@@ReidHenderson Yes, that makes sense. I'm pretty sure they not legal in the states.
I don't know about the legality of them but I know tuners used to like installing one wiper kits of some sort to make there ricers more European.

Watching the cutter is like watching fish in a fish bowl. Relaxing, only nothing ever happens with the fish
To look at this guy, you wouldn't assume he's funny, but he's hilarious.
This channel's as good as Taras Kulakov !!!
Taras isn't even close lol
Taras kul isn't making fun videos anymore.
All he is doing is kitchen Gadjik test
I like how these guys ''test'' the durability of parts in their own unique way, like here, it just shows how tough this glass really is.
I would like to see the repair man’s reaction when you bring it in 😁
please make and install a Wooden clutch :p i think it will work kinda like the wooden brakes u did
Nothing this guy does surprises me. He is my kind of guy. About everything he does is a hoot ! He should come to the states and get his own TV show.
This translator's voice is a perfect accent to understand! Even the automatically generated subtitles are always on point because of his voice!!!
never seen a car with one wiper that wipes the whole windshield!
Most mercedeses from that era has it like that
The toyota etios has one too.
Watching him smile once the cutter got back into the groove. Made me laugh so hard. Like why do we all enjoy this so much. I'm smiling too!!!
Vlad you the man. Making a lada windscreen from a mercedes windscreen. I would have never thought of that, since I don't own a lada.
Translation by BMI english....
6:57 BMI Russian even translates blowing air onto the windshield/glass cutter...lol
He is so good of a translator that he will start translating sound effects
That's who I call a dedicated translator
How ironic is it that I go back to watch this and there’s a glass repair room on the first ad lmao
This is so awesome for many reasons!
I haven't seen this trapeze wiping action before, interesting.
This is by far, the most addictive channel on You Tube! Awesome job!

I love this channel, my wife hears me laughing and asks if I'm watching them crazy Russians again🙄🙄
If nothing else it is a great illustration of MB's single wiper action.
This guy is one of the best.
As always, cool!
that marking tool though. so satisfying when he was literally drawing on glass with it.
That's how mafia glass works

How much it cost to replace glass ?
I like how happy he seems after he engaged wiper after epoxying it to wiper arm

Would be fun to see how a car-class repairstore would react when you say you have a cracked windshield

The glass cutter doesn’t cut the glass it scratches it ,then you apply pressure and it cracks following the scratch
I love how he does this on his own car without a care in the world... So cool!

I love that sound... Should upload it as a separate video. (10 hours of metal cutting glass)
Never seen a wiper that moves in a squircle like that before...Interesting mechanism there.
leave it to stupid mercedes. Have to justify the initial cost and make sure there is plenty of stuff to constantly break!
I remember as a dealer tech, when Mercedes came out with the single, pattern changing wiper like that.
12:15 watching him wipe the glass with his fingers makes me cringe so hard. Dude must have hands made of steel.
These guys are nuts

If you put oil or even water on the cutter it would cut more smoothly

i once saw a glass-cutter cut up a laminated pane. he scored the glass on both sides, then poured alcohol on it and set on fire to melt the plastic layer and broke it apart. mildly interesting.
Are you sure it was the wiper motor that did not have enough power or was it the battery draining out of juice?

How was his hands the next day with the glass slivers in them?
Its called pirex glass or borosilicate class, is the stuff a chemistry set is made out of
seems like u hit the resin layer between the two pains of glass as it would be laminated and started to stick/ clump up
