If you haven't seen part 1 yet: ruclips.net/video/ESgpgdG2PoI/видео.html I was going to release part 2 in two days, but just couldn't do that to you haha :D
I saw this at the midnight premiere and everyone leaving the cinema at 3am in the morning. It was such a weird atmosphere, people had cried, people were so silent and sad and shocked. Great video as always!
I saw this on glorious 100 ft (31m) wide and 75 ft (23m) tall. Most were sad, but I was angry. Not a Thanos, but at Quill. or Loki. or even Gamora. Ahhh Quill, If you could just wait. This would be all over. In all movies there is always a moment to correct things and prevent 100 years of suffering. People are just never willing to make the sacrifice to make that happen.
Believe us, Mari. Many MCU fans, including me, left the theaters with tears in our eyes after seeing Infinity War. For once, evil had won, and we really didn't know what was going to happen next.
Exactly. And you absolutely have to sacrifice that which you love in order to get the soul stone. If you love nothing, you'll never win it. The reason why Thanos works so well as a villain is because the production team remembered the old maxim "Every villain believes they are the hero of their own story." Thanos truly believes he is doing what's best for the Universe in the long-run, and it's that rock-solid conviction that makes him so dangerous.
The reason Spidey was panicking and kept repeating 'I don't feel so good' is his Spidey sense was going mad, sensing his impending non-existence, danger coming from everywhere and nowhere, inside and out. Brilliant bit of story and acting right there.
This movie might as well be called "Thanos: Infinity War". I remember seeing this for the first time in the theater and there was no cheers, no discussions, everyone just left the theater in silence...
Yup. I remember the whole hall was packed and after the snap it was dead silent. If not for the speakers playing dialogue, you could have heard a fly in that room. Then after the credits everyone just stood up without a word and left with that look of emptiness on the face. No one expected that ending, no one was prepared for it.
Thanos is such a brilliant villain. Most villains are villains for a reason, they mostly seek chaos and destruction, and although Thanos is chaotic and destructive you can almost see the reasoning behind is actions, sacrifice a few to save many. And you can see proof from past experiences like Titan that Thanos isn't completely mad as he has witnessed first hand what has happened and what needs to be done, it's easy to see him as the pure bad guy who just kills but when you break it down, the places he leaves behind after visiting life flourishes afterwards. Brilliant writing.
Saw this in the theaters. At the end, as we were all leaving the theater, people were crying. I didn’t cry but I was quiet. Speechless. I was in shock.
I still remember that feeling like it was yesterday lol I watched the premiere alone because I was the only one who could among my friends. First show. And I walked out completely shocked for half an hour and I couldnt tell any of my friends that had to watch the movie later in the day. And by night we were furiously chatting for hours talking about what Endgame will be about.
"Wait, you know Thor?" "Of course. He's got long hair, carries a hammer." "Nah, our doesn't have a hammer. Has short hair, missing an eye." "Huh, totally different Thor."
@@MikeB12800 "So you have a dead brother, huh Thor?" "Uh huh" "Got a mom?" "Dead" "Dad?" "Dead. Sister too." "Wife... girlfriend...?" "We're on a break. Well... it was a mutual dumping."
@@chefskiss6179 "Best friend?" "Stabbed to death." "Any other friends?" "Murdered by my dead sister." "Hometown?" "Destroyed." "Erm..." "Any pets?" "A rabbit."
Thanos didn't have a lust for power. In his mind, he was sacrificing the one thing he cared for to save the universe. He may have been mistaken, but that is what he believed.
@@Oktay11 createing a universe would not do any thing because the old universe would still exist and still have problems.and about your first point he trusted the surviving people would get it right and not over populate
@@Oktay11not quite. You're correct in the sense that humans reproduce, but the only thing that Thanos got wrong is that he assumed that the current trends would remain and society wouldn't collapse after the Snap. If he is correct in this assumption is correct, his plan would work. Current trends put the human population capping out at 11 billion. If you can cut the population in half, without disrupting this trend, you cap the population at 6 billion.
I was in the cinema for this movie. I can tell you that I had no words for a few days. Very hard to process what I just witnessed. It's such a powerful and impactful scene to witness
I watched this movie three times in theatres. Each time it was just as sad and shocking even though I knew what was coming. By the end of the movie if you weren't sobbing you we in stunned silence. Such an awesome movie. Lots of exciting and sad moments. After each viewing I felt so hopeless haha.
What I liked about Infinity War was the fact that they were willing to kill so many characters. It's unrealistic in a war battle that none of the good guys die. Infinity War went there and went there big.
I don't mind if the main characters die. As long as it comes in sacrifice to the great good. The bigger cause. It gives weight to the fight. This is why Game of Thrones is so intense. Anyone can go at any time. It makes me invested.
@@lethaldose2000 I usually hear that "this movie was unrealistic" gripe from most people. I normally watch a movie to escape from the realness of life. I get it though. Not even the Avengers can win every time.
Quiet, definitely quiet. Like u can actually hear footsteps on the carpet along the hallway of the theater quiet, cuz no one is talking. Most memorable cinema moment I've ever had.
Exactly! With this we had to wait an entire year for the conclusion in Avengers:Endgame, but with The Empire Strikes Back we had to wait THREE whole years, and no internet or trailers or leaked info to get us by until Jedi came out.
This movie had so many epic moments: the battle in New York, Thor taking the force of a star, Cap and friends arriving to help Wanda and Vision, Guardians and Avengers vs Thanos, the Battle in Wakanda, and of course the Snap. But none compares to the silence of the whole movie theater after the credits started rolling, the defeated audience that couldn’t believe what just happened. One of the best MCU movies.
And remember, when this came out, fans had to wait a year before Endgame came out. In-between, there was Captain Marvel (which was an important piece leading to Endgame). So, yeah...it was a long wait.
So epic that Cap is able to push Thanos' hand back using all his strength, and you can literally see Thanos go like "huh, how about that, respect" in his mind and he has to punch Cap to the ground with his free hand. :)
And it's so disheartening to see Cap at the end, sitting on the ground, head hung low, saying "Oh God". The man who never gives up, never surrenders, always fights the good fight with hope in his heart no matter the odds... realizing that there is nothing any of them can do to stop this tragedy. THAT is a powerful scene right there.
I think its also interesting that the two people who Thanos seemed to truly respect their strength were the two who were normal humans with no real "super powers." Granted, Cap was a super soldier, but he didn't have any super powers. And obviously the other is Tony, who he respected for his strength and intellect.
Yeah I think he's mostly just impressed by cap's resolve, never giving up against all odds. He knows cap isn't a threat, so just observes it for a second.
yea i don’t think he was holding him back and forcing him to do something else lmao, thanos was nowhere near struggling, he was merely observing if he wanted to he’d obliterate him, stones or no stones
The sheer amount of emotion on Thanos' face at Vormir is impressive Also, that's not how love works. He didn't sacrifice her for power, he sacrificed her for what he believed was a greater purpose. Something greater than his selfish desire to keep Gamora alive
Same, I usually hate that too but he earned it. For me it really helps that the heroes didn't get cheesed out of the victory because the script needed them to; they fought their best and stayed true to themselves but he was simply better.
He’s the villain. But in 98 percent of movies the villain is also the antagonist. He’s the antagonist endgame. But in infinity war he’s the protagonist. He has a goal to accomplish and everyone is doing all they can to prevent him from it. That’s why it made so much sense. There was no swerve. Even if you’ve never heard of the character thanos or the infinity gauntlet , when he won it made sense because the entire movie built up to that because it was centered around him and not the Avengers
I was thinking the same .. When he took the force of a star.. it could be a jump the shark moment but then people remember Thor is a God.. The rules don't apply to him .. It's why he really is the strongest Avenger ..
@@pudder68 No, he's not a god. He was worshipped as one by humans at one time, but he's still mortal. He's just stronger, faster, and longer lived. P.S. Didn't you watch Thor: Ragnarok? Bruce Banner is the strongest Avenger. ;)
We came into our local theaters like we were going to a rave BUT...when we came out, it was like we were coming out of a wake service at a black church, and an old black grandma screaming "Oh lawd! Not my baby! Not The Falcon! No!😱😭". Jeeze, we got humbled in summer of 2018, huh?🤭
I think one thing that really gets me about this movie that I never realized until rewatching it is that T'challa says "Thanos will have nothing but dust and blood" and Proxima Midnight replied with "We have blood to spare." And then a bunch of Thanos' arm is killed, supplying the blood, and then Thanos snaps and half the universe turns to dust. So T'challa was right. Thanos had dust and blood. But when I saw this in theaters, I was not prepared and I couldn't even drive home for a solid 30min I was so distraught. It was horrible and they took my 2 favorites from me in this movie so I was broken in a way I don't think a work of fiction has ever done. Bravo to the creative team behind this for thoroughly crushing the fanbase cause damn.
This movie in the theater was an all encompassing experience that was really intense. It was almost unbearable waiting a year and a half (or whatever it was) between this and "Endgame." "Ant-Man" and "Captain Marvel" were really great to have in there, though. It's like a magician toying with the audience a bit. They know what you want and are so confident in what they have, that they know they could make you wait for it. By the time "Endgame" dropped, it was such a massive "I NEEEEED THIS RIGHT NOW" moment. I can't wait for your "Endgame" reaction, btw. I don't want to say anything but I will say that that movie delivered. I often see the "if you could relive any moviegoing experience again for the first time, what would it be," and my answer is 9 times out of 10 "Endgame." It's... I really really can't wait for you to get to that. I'll say no more.
"I really don't like the beard on Steve" That's literally, LITERALLY the FIRST AND ONLY TIME I've EVER heard this from someone. Hahahaha I mean, c'mon girl. Bearded Captain America makes me 100% gay
If felt weird at first seeing Cap with a beard, but it makes sense because he's on the run, he's a fugitive & I've heard he actually did have beard at some point in the comics.
When I saw it in the theaters.Outside in the hallway were four pre teen girls sobbing loudly and hysterically at Peter Parkers death scene, A father of one or two of the girls looked like he didn't really know what to say to comfort them. While Pole-axed looks from theater goers is what I remember,my thought was "DAMN I gotta wait how long until End Game?"
Something to notice: Whenever Thanos made a deal to not kill someone, they survived the Snap. Loki gave him the Space Stone to save Thor. Gamora revealed the Soul Stone's location to save Nebula. Strange gave him the Time Stone to save Tony.
@@Therealfakemaxgoldberg Which makes him a more rich, and satisfying villain. He's not some cliche maniac. He's doing what he truly believes is in the best interest of the universe.
Oh, and of course, Thanos himself just happened to come out living in the great coin flip. This is why I scoff every time he said some hoowie about randomly choosing half: if it's random, it can't be exactly half; if it takes exactly half it can't be random. Furthermore, does the snap take into consideration all the people that die through collateral means? The passengers of the helicopter in the end scene, for example?
Because of the comic, I was pretty sure he would get the stones and do the snap, but I still remember at the end, the theater was silent except for sniffling. Was crazy.
Yeah us comic geeks had a suspicion it would end like that (not that I've read the originals, but I've seen recaps), especially since they had originally titled this one and Endgame "Part 1" and "Part 2". But I've read that they wrote several drafts and considered putting the Snap at some point in the next movie, just so this one wouldn't end on such a down note.
@@jlilley73 yeah. I read the original. Fantastic story. I’m glad they did it as they did. The effect of the wait between movies just made it that much more intense.
Loved this reaction! Haha I sat in the cinema listening to people trying to contain their tears and no body spoke for a good 10 mins after the film finished 🤣
When I saw this in theaters on opening day, the whole place just erupted with cheers and applause during Thor’s entrance to Wakanda. Definitely one of the most insane moments I’ve experienced in a theater! So iconic.
I remember walking out of the theater just thinking, "Holy crap! He won!" I knew there would be a follow-up film, but the impact at the end of Infinity War was so well delivered! Everyone in the theater was silent the whole time we were all walking out. It was a very somber moment.
When I saw this movie in the theater on opening day, When the people started disappearing, Most of the crowd was crying the other half screamed out (f) you. Great video Greg0450
04:19 It actually shows how convinced Thanos is of his goal. He is willing to sacrifice anything, no matter how hard it is. He does love Gamora, but is willing to do anything to fulfill the one goal no one else can.
Seeing it in the theater it was just like this. But everyone. Silence, shock, disbelief. At least you can watch it without waiting from April 2018 to April 2019. :)
In the theaters lots of people came out in a daze... after opening weekend everyone started speculation and many honed in on the "1 in 14,000,006" ... "We're in the Endgame now." Fans got excited when "Endgame" became the announced title months later.
I remember everyone, including myself, walking out of the theater in a daze. Some were still in tears, but silently. No talking, no laughing, no exclamations of how amazing the movie was. Not even cursing or sobbing. Just people quietly in shock, shuffling out into the hall.
@Thomas T that chubby Chonky butterball was getting all comfortable and relaxed. Then when she really got into the movie the chubbster was giving her the stink eye. Probably thinking "I'm sleeping over here. Why all the noise?" 😹
Something important to note: Stormbreaker doesn’t have the worthiness enchantment like mjolnir did. So anyone could lift it “May the odds be ever in your favor” Thanks Effie It’s not love, but he believes it is. And that’s good enough for the stone Blasphemy! The beard is glorious!
I mean, you have to ask, what actually is love? It's really just a concept we've come up with to describe one person having extremely strong feelings of affection for another. Ask yourself, what is really the difference between believing you love someone and "actually" loving them. If Thanos reacts with sorrow at killing Gamora, the same way as someone who loves her would react to her death, what's the difference? Does that mean that people who are willing to sacrifice the people they have strong affection for are never able to love? At the end of the day whether Thanos loved Gamora or not, it doesn't change that what he did was evil, it even arguably makes it worse if he loved her.
I think it would be cooler, if Stormbreaker had the worthy enchantment. That way, we could have clearly seen that Groot is worthy like he is in the comics.
@@dm_dude I doubt that teenage Groot was worthy, just being self sacrificial doesn't make someone worthy. On the other hand, I think Adult Groot from GOTG 1 would be worthy tho. But you have to take into account that Groot from GOTG 2, Infinity War, and Endgame is not the same Groot. I don't remember who said it (I think James Gun), but Groot died in the first movie. The Groot from after that is essentially his child. That means that even if OG Groot was worthy, it doesn't make New Groot worthy. It's like if Cap had a son, it wouldn't automatically make his son worthy of Mjolnir.
I love your cat in the background. It was certainly having some dreams by the way its legs were twitching..probably dreaming of catching little Thanos mice =)
Welcome to the feels train. Now imagine the trauma and dead silence every person that experienced this in theaters had to go through. Some movie goers even saw children crying in theaters and Marvel had the balls to actually do this. Seeing this movie in theaters was a hell of an experience for many of us
Having been a comic reader most of my life, while sitting in the theater for this film I certainly had the standard emotional response others have described... but also there was a joyful feeling of.. "well congrats Marvel, you did it." that came from going into this whole Thanos storyline and actually doing it.. the ending. I had doubts disney would actually go there. and when they did... I had tears on my cheeks and a huge smile.. so weird lol
If you watch it again and pretend Thanos is the good guy, it's a happy ending. Literally, this is Thanos' movie, the Russo Bros actually had that in mind while shooting it.
When I first saw this in theaters I already knew what to expect going in because I’m familiar with the actual story that this is based on from the comics. Watching everyone else’s reaction to it as the realization said in that they just watch the heroes lose that was priceless. Especially since the majority of of the audience or half of the audience aren’t familiar with the comics. This was the one movie I went out of my way to see in theaters three times
Something to keep in mind about the timelines. The release order that you're watching them in is setup for the best viewer experience in terms of narrative, but they're not always in chronological order. Just something to keep in mind.
“How are you in the Cinema, watching this then going outside feeling empty as hell” The most realest thing I’ve heard. It was a quiet ride home leaving the movies that day.
'I am Steve Rogers.' You can take the boy out of the 1940's but you can't take the 1940's out of the boy. 'Remain what you are a good man.' Just a Good Polite Man.
Mari I saw it with my little brother and his friend and it literally felt like It was something that was happening in the real life and every time I watch somebody react to it the same feeling come over me every time as I felt in the movie theater
I'll never forget the few minutes after the movie ended when I saw it in theaters; everybody was either sobbing or completely silent, like they were in shock. Even when we got out of the theater, at 3 in the morning, with dozens of people outside, it took quite a while before we could hear people talking while walking away, and even then, it felt more like whispers...
Hey Mary! Just came across your channel a bit ago and had to binge watch you going through all the Avengers movies. I LOVE how invested you got with the characters and to have to watch you suffer through the end of it all was heartbreaking. You do a fantastic job and I’m sooo excited to check out more. Keep up the great work!
I read the Infinity Gauntlet comics when I was a kid. My dad used to read the comics first then give them to me. I have a vivid recollection of him handing me the comic containing the Marvel heroes last assault on Thanos, warning me it would be heavy for me, and then balling uncontrollably on my bunkbed when Thanos emerged victorious. Fast forward to 2018. I'm an adult, thought I knew what to expect, but still left the theater utterly devastated like everyone else. Unforgettable.
I think this is the first time a superhero movie had the villain as the protagonist. Truly something special. To him, he is the hero, The Avengers and everyone else are just an obstacle for him to overcome, and he does in the end. Maybe he's right.
Going to see this movie in the theater was so exciting, everyone energy & spirits we up. Coming out of the movie seeing all the packed lines of happy and excited fans w/ no idea of what they were in for. It was draining & very somber coming out the movie after watching it for the 1st time.
1 thing thanos does understand better than anyone what wanda was going through. wanda just killed someone she loved to save the universe. thanos killed someone he loved to save the universe.
Saw it in theaters opening night. Tears. Lots and lots of tears. When leaving everyone was silent. All you could hear were sniffles and sobs. It was pretty intense. It is one of my favorite theater experiences. It felt like going in we were all strangers, but after this and the vulnerability, it felt like we walked out a community. The only experience to top it is Endgame, but they are neck and neck. It was a moment I will cherish my entire life. I am excited for you to be caught up to the rest of us. Hopefully you can get to have an experience like this yourself when the next huge collab comes up.
This movie did the greatest trick to tell a story with so many heroes that are trying to win, it made it Thanos' story. We get his background and all of his struggles, basically his journey and triumph. Something to keep in mind for the Endgame: all heroes left now are the original Avengers from 2012, which certainly is poetic.
I was just thinking about this the other day. Who are the only other hero or Avengers characters that are in this movie and survive to the end? There aren't very many. Rhody, Rocket, Okoye, Nebula... and... ? I think that's almost all of them.
If I remember correctly we did already know that there was going to be a follow up movie to this, and I think we might even have known that it was going to be called Endgame. We didn't really have any idea what that meant, though.
@@hkpew We only knew they planned Avengers: Infinity War part 1 and Avengers Infinity War part 2 but sometime before part 1 premiered they changed it to just Avengers Infinity War and kept the title of the follow-up Avengers film a secret. Everyone then started speculating on what they might call the follow-up Avengers film. Initially everyone thought thought they'd call it Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet because of during an interview with Zoey Saldana, she referred to the second film as "Gauntlet", which ended up just being the working title/placeholder name for everyone involved in making it to use. Nobody knew what the title was until the day Marvel Studios released a trailer for it simply titled "Avengers Official Trailer", where not until the title card showed everyone Avengers: Endgame at the end of the trailer.
I saw this movie 2x in the movie theatre when it came out. I cried. And I never cry. When Peter started saying "I don't wanna go, Mr Stark" it broke me. And I had to wait for Endgame. It was a phenomenon. Loved your reaction.
Seeing this in theatre... It was so bonding and such a powerful experience bc everyone cried shamelessly, and cheered at the same time at the same things... And wow it was truly such an experience, bc you know every person there is just like you and everyone stayed in their seats for the end credits
Speaking as a long-time fan of comics, and someone who had read and greatly enjoyed the series upon which this was based, 1991's "The Infinity Gauntlet", I cannot really express just how impressed and satisfied I was with this film. Seeing a storyline I had loved for 27 years get a big-screen adaptation that was THIS good, it pressed so many nostalgia-buttons. Sure, the deaths hurt, but narratively I knew that this film would end with "the snap", and knowing that I was able to sort of read and feel the reactions of the theater audience. And almost everyone was just completely gob-smacked. There were gasps, there were mutterings of "Oh no!" and there were tears. It was the payoff of 10 years of MCU character-investment, and it worked. As someone below said, this film was essentially this generation's equivalent of "The Empire Strikes Back", and you don't get that connection if you don't love these characters. Anyway, I've been waiting quite a while for this, and I really look forward to your reactions to "Captain Marvel", "Ant Man & the Wasp", and "Avengers: Endgame". Thank you once again for sharing your experience with us!
Of course it's nothing like love. If he really loved Gamora, he couldn't kill to obtain HIS goal. Thanos says he likes Quill, because Quill is willing to do anything, even kill Gamora if necessary. But Quill tries to kill Gamora because it's HER choice: he loves and RESPECTS her. Whereas she's just a prop for Thanos's monumental ego (and incredible stupidity) and he drops her by the side of the road like a crumble soda can. No different from how he treats Vision. (If nothing else, a LOVING Thanos would use the Time Stone to go back to Vormir and rescue Gamora from his other self. That wouldn't change HIS reality, it would just create a new timeline where the other Thanos is left alone and wondering what just happened. No different from the "what if Thanos tripped while chasing Gamora and fell over the cliff?" timeline. There are an infinite number of futures, as Strange saw…but Mr. I have ALL the stones never thinks to save his "beloved" daughter. Asshole.) Plus he's so goddamn stupid. I never make it through a viewing without yelling "Grow more food, Asshole!" Infinite power and the only "solution" you can think of is genocide? Yea, that's because you were just looking for an excuse to kill trillions of people. No "strongest will" involved. You're just a mass-murderer on a self-pity kick. No matter how much Thanos pretends otherwise.
When I left the theater, there were people crying people screaming people yelling people saying that there was no way to come back from this, but there were those choice few who have read the comics and knew what was coming myself included, who could only chuckle knowing full well what comes next. It was an emotional roller coaster one that I am very proud to have been involved with at the theater level.
I saw this on Netflix with my nieces and granddaughter. Me and the older nieces were in shock, my youngest niece broke down crying. Actually bawling her heart out. Thankfully my granddaughters fell asleep, and finish it later. I couldn’t deal with them all crying at the same time. It took about an hour for my niece to calm down. For the next couple of weeks she would randomly start crying when she thought about it again. She loves superheroes and it just broke her down. My granddaughters cried as well when they finished it. They were younger and had less time with the characters, so they took it slightly better than my youngest niece. But they all were upset.
When I saw this in the theatre, the ending was pretty much exactly what I expected, because I'd read the comics on which this was based, and although it didn't follow the comics in every detail, it followed the general outline. Which meant I also had a general idea of what to expect in ENDGAME.
I'm glad you can appreciate how devastated we were seeing it in theaters. I went in spoiler free and was not expecting the ending at all. It absolutely floored me. Keep up the great reactions!
I went to the premiere of this movie with my friends and I remember the whole movie theater just in shock when the movie finished... you could hear people crying (I was crying a LOT).
I saw this at the premier, and I’ve never heard a theater so quiet at the end of a film. Walking out and seeing the mob waiting to go in to the next showing so excited and cheering, making a ton of noise, and the people walking out stunned and silent. Definitely one of the most memorable moments I’ve ever had in a theater. Infinity War is just so well crafted with the buildup over the years and so many movies, it’s a true masterpiece of storytelling and filmmaking.
Hulk isn't coming out because he only gets called out to fight and he is tired of only being a war machine. Probably also mild trauma of losing to thanos. Thanos appreciated Peter trying to kill gamora because he is making that hard sacrifice where he would kill what he loved for the bigger picture. Same for Stark, smart bigger picture guy who knows what is happening. Same for Wanda. Killing a loved one for greater good. I know you think he is doesn't understand but he does because he had the same choice in his home world. He and his people didn't make the hard choice so he had to watch his entire civilization die. In the real world Thanos' actions would be correct regardless of how much you hate him. A lot of people deny it but the reality is that if there is one piece of bread, there is a limit to the number of people who it can feed. Populations grow, Resources do not magically appear out of thin air. I don't know if that's the correct time to kill half the universe but there would definitely be a point where it would be required or everyone would starve to death. The only work around to that is what humans already do. War. Kill a different civilization so yours can prosper. but even that has a limit once you have killed all the other civilizations and your own grows too big. Killing half the population randomly is the best thing to do if you consider populations as a whole. The other option is picking who lives or dies. That's good for some people but not everyone which means more conflict. Now, the real best way to do it would be to kill off the lower class people. Kill the people working at Mcdonalds and save the doctors and scientist kind of thing. But that again triggers conflict because everyone knows that is the best option but everyone also doesn't want to die.
Every single person involved in writing, storyboarding, painting, drawing, rendering, etc., the scene where Thor comes to Wakanda deserves a fucking raise and individual awards. It is one of the most cathartic, exciting, incredible scenes in modern movies. Also, for Thanos and Gamora, he did actually care for Gamora. He legitimately loved her like a daughter. The tears he shed before he sacrificed her were real. He's not some just blindly evil dude. He believes that it's necessary to sacrifice what he loves, and possibly even his own life, to do what he thinks is right. It's why he wins. Thanos is willing to sacrifice whatever he needs to to achieve his goals. The Avengers weren't even willing to sacrifice Vision, even though he asked them to, until it was too late. Had they destroyed the stone earlier, Thanos wouldn't have gotten all 6.
It was crazy seeing this in theaters. I saw it 3 times, and the first two times the audience was completely silent at the end. It was like we all just went through this shared trauma, and we just weren't ready to discuss it. And that's why I love movie theaters.
This was a crazy opening night theater experience let me tell you. It went from one of the loudest reactions I've heard in a theater when Thor arrived to nearly dead silence at the end. When the screen started to fade to black and the credits started people started screaming "Wait no... no... noooooo FUUUUUUUU".
You should of heard my midnight showing at the end of this movie. People were screaming watching people dust and then silence so quiet you could hear a pin drop. It was the weirdest feeling everyone was crying.
The first Marvel comic I ever bought, as a little kid in Ocean Beach CA, long before the Infinity Gauntlet comics (but by the same author, Jim Starlin, and pioneering the same premise), was Captain Marvel #32, in 1974; it featured Captain Marvel teaming up with a number of other heroes (including Iron Man and a green-skinned alien named Drax) to combat a purple-skinned, death-obsessed alien named Thanos who had just used an ancient cosmic artifact to give himself godlike powers. So I'd been waiting for this movie for a loooong time.
about 5:30 mins in when you said "Can you imagine sacrificing someone you love for power" that sounded LITERALLTY like an "miss uncle roger" saying that hehe
I can’t tell you how great it has been to watch you experience these movies from the beginning for the first time. In reference to Infinity War & Endgame.. I have NEVER experienced anything even close to what I did watching them in theaters. The next closest thing would be the Deathly Hollows followed by perhaps the Force Awakens. They would still be a far distance from infinity war and endgame though. Without a hint of sarcasm or over exaggeration, the experience of watching those two movies in theaters was more emotionally impactful than any wedding, graduation, birth or funeral I’ve ever attended. Most importantly though, in both movies the directors, actors, and production team not only stuck the landing, but far exceeded all expectations we had. I honestly don’t know if any of us will ever experience something like this again.
This is the second-best movie experience I've ever had. People were dead silent in the theaters after the credits started to roll. And then that year and a half long wait paid off with hands down the best movie experience I've ever had. Infinity War was a GREAT movie. Endgame was an entire cultural experience.
Phenomenal reaction and you're one of the only people I've seen reactions from that has genuine anger at Thanos's sacrifice of Gamora. That was great and honest! We in the theater shared your emotion at the loss. They prepared you at the beginning of the movie for incredibly high stakes by killing Loki and Heimdall and I think many if us thought Tony Stark was going to die in his fight. We breathed a sigh of relief when he was spared only to get totally destroyed when half of everyone dusted. Shocked into silence was how everyone left outside of kids still crying. Shows how well made these are that we cared so much for the lost.

In the theater. I knew. No one would be willing to make the needed sacrifice. Quill just couldn't keep is emotions in check for 10 more seconds.

Ahhh Quill, If you could just wait. This would be all over. In all movies there is always a moment to correct things and prevent 100 years of suffering. People are just never willing to make the sacrifice to make that happen.
How many people were there at the premiere (approximately), coz I've heard of a midnight premiere before
Believe us, Mari. Many MCU fans, including me, left the theaters with tears in our eyes after seeing Infinity War. For once, evil had won, and we really didn't know what was going to happen next.
Well for people to know about Infinity Gauntlet saga in comics we know what happen in the next movie.

Dark Helmet said it best: evil triumphed because good (in this case, Peter Quill) was dumb.
Thanos didn't sacrifice Gamora for power, he did it for the betterment of the universe. In his mind, he believes he's doing what needs to be done.
Those are the most dangerous kind of people
the hardest choices require the strongest wills
@NolanEP he didn’t though. He proceeded to destroy the stones since they only brought temptation. This proves he didn’t want the stones for power.
well, someone said
"if you are wrong, you think you are right, that makes you even more dangerous!"
Well it's way more the Thanos Quest storyline than the infinity Gauntlet storyline
it should've been called Avengers - Infinity War: Oh Snap

He's not mad, but he is stupid. His plan makes no sense.

THE best MCU movie imo.
2:23 this movie answer cuts in a way that makes it so easy to follow
@@lordmortarius538 Like, he actually felt hopeless that time. It's freaking heartbreaking 😢
He knows cap isn't a threat, so just observes it for a second.
yea i don’t think he was holding him back and forcing him to do something else lmao, thanos was nowhere near struggling, he was merely observing
if he wanted to he’d obliterate him, stones or no stones
The sheer amount of emotion on Thanos' face at Vormir is impressive
Also, that's not how love works. He didn't sacrifice her for power, he sacrificed her for what he believed was a greater purpose. Something greater than his selfish desire to keep Gamora alive
The first time I watched a villain win. And enjoyed it! Thanos was on a mission very much focused.
Same, I usually hate that too but he earned it. For me it really helps that the heroes didn't get cheesed out of the victory because the script needed them to; they fought their best and stayed true to themselves but he was simply better.
Definitely made the movie much better.
I love that this movie is the most Thor Odinson in the mcu feels like an actual god instead of just a blonde handsome man with lightning powers
I was thinking the same .. When he took the force of a star.. it could be a jump the shark moment but then people remember Thor is a God.. The rules don't apply to him .. It's why he really is the strongest Avenger ..

It’s not love, but he believes it is. And that’s good enough for the stone
Blasphemy!
Yeah, the point with the stone was sacrifice.
I think it would be cooler, if Stormbreaker had the worthy enchantment. That way, we could have clearly seen that Groot is worthy like he is in the comics.
@@dm_dude sadly no odin to place it
@@dm_dude I doubt that teenage Groot was worthy, just being self sacrificial doesn't make someone worthy.

Asshole.)
Plus he's so goddamn stupid.
Thanks for not leaving us hanging!
The curse of knowledge is a very real thing. Great reaction. Cheers!
Thanos wasn't Happy he was Relieved
Yessss thank you for not making us wait long!! Also you not liking Caps beard damn near made me cry too
1:11 no; it’s Senator Trask!
Now imagine seeing this in theaters and having to wait a whole year to see what happens next. 😭
that gorgeous cat sleeping!! I cant even!!!
about 5:30 mins in when you said "Can you imagine sacrificing someone you love for power" that sounded LITERALLTY like an "miss uncle roger" saying that hehe
Best marvel movie, and one of the best movies ever! The 10 year build up to it was amazing
FIRST SHOWING OPENING NIGHT...THE CHEERS AND GOOSEBUMPS WHEN THOR SHOWED UP....THE UTTER SILENCE AT THE END. MORE THAN A MOVIE IT WAS SUCH AN EXPERIENCE.... the agony of waiting for Endgame was sooo bad tho lol 🍿♥️
