    The reason France and Britain behaved was that they wanted Belgian and Netherlands armies to fight on their side. So they rushed into lower countries with their best troops, but ended up being encircled.
    Belgians also wanted Allied army protection, so they lied to the Allies and exaggerated the strength of their army and their defenses.

    Not pro war as in they think war is a good thing. But pro war as in they support their country's reasons to engage in it

    You would be amazed...perhaps horrified is a better word...by how many people in the world were "pro-war" going into World War I...and let's not even talk about the huge number of pro-war folks before WW2.
    The series on WW2 has a lot of errors in it, large and small...and I do not even include errors of omission, since that is what Oversimplified does. Here is a comment I try to make on this video as often as I can with the 2 most important corrections I think this video needs, so I hope you don't mind me copy/pasting it here.
    Unfortunately, there are a couple of spots in this one where Oversimplified oversimplified a bit too much, to the point where the things they say are factually incorrect. Specifically, the script has a line that indicates the German people loved the Schmazis, but that is not true...only a relatively small minority of them did. Shortly after that, Oversimplified gets the history wrong on how the Schmazis actually take power. He suggests that Schmazi popularity "grew and grew" and that led directly to the President making that Corporal the Chancellor, but that is not how it happened. The Schmazi's popularity had an upper limit, and actually fell after it reached that upper limit, but they were still the largest party in the Reichstag...and they used that power to force President Hindenburg to make the Corporal the Chancellor.
    Also, in the section where Oversimplified talks about the Czechoslovakians not being allowed to attend the 4 power conference, they make it seem like it was Britain and France that did not invite them...but it was one of Hitler's demands that Czechoslovakia not attend the meeting.

      Damn, I am generally surprised about the pro war stance people had back then😮 and oversimplified had errors!? I’ll deffo keep that in mind if I ever react some more from them!:)

      The thing about him taking power was explained further in his videos on Hitler himself. Unfortunately, those videos are blocked in most countries. I’m sure there are reuploads of them somewhere but I imagine they’d be a bit hard to find.

      @@lordbaconn6591 It is true that the series on Bitchler gets the process of his rise to power much more correctly...I have seen that series many times. However, getting it right in the Bitchler series does not reduce the need to correct the mistakes they made on that topic in the WW2 series....I hope we agree on that.

      "Relatively small minority" and then also being the biggest party dont make a lot of sense

    • @iKvetch558
      @iKvetch558 2 месяца назад

      @@whatlmao Not at all...when I said very few people loved them, I was talking about Oversimplified being wrong in describing it as if anything like a majority of the German people actually loved them. Then, when I talked about them being the largest single party, I was speaking of their electoral success...or lack of it...since they could never win anything close to a majority, and only managed to reach about 35 percent support.
