My friend was renting a room to a guy he paid her rent with a macbook air before he moved out. She booted it some guy face showed up and password obviously stolen. She asked me for help I found the guy online who it belonged to. I sent him a message on FB he didn't want it back because he reported it to his insurance got more money than he had paid for it used. He would not give us the password either didn't want us to access the data. We can't take to an apple store not sure what to do with it now.
@@Blazeyy heyy what did you do after that? i also removed my macbook air 2015 as a device, and now it only shows the padlock logo and it seems to be needing the firmware password, but i know nothing about the password.

buy an efi chip there's tutorials on youtube man.. it's inexpensive

So, icloud can be removed by reinstalling Mac OS and EFI password can be removed by swapping the chip?

If it's not EFI locked, we can erase the drive and re-install the MacOS. If it's EFI locked, then we would have to remove the EFI lock.

He probably contacted Apple. You can give the Serial to an advisor, and they can tell you, if it’s icloud locked, and if it is lost or stolen
