Sam Robson beautiful. This song reminds me of my mom. Watching her fade away with brain cancer. Every word means something to me. So the years went by and after struggling for 8 yrs she began to drift away.

I lost a 20 (!) year old cat to, basically, old age a couple of years ago and as we spent the last hours I’d ever have with her together in my living room, I took the time to listen to music with her as she lay there, cold and weak. 😢. I played the original song by Sarah McLaughlin, cried hard, and held my cat. She passed away the next morning. I knew I shouldn’t have listened to your version but as I expected… “Niagara Falls”. (Not saying this with the purpose of inflating your ego - if you even have one, which I doubt.) (by the way, that was a compliment)
Your music; your arrangements; the thought and time and emotions you put into what you create (including the hymns): my brother and I have been inspired, encouraged, dumbfounded, and blessed.
When I listen to some of your music (despite all of my discouragement and my feelings of depression, and the things that I’ve been through) I experience a beauty that I don’t experience anywhere else.
The beauty I experience when I listen to some of your renditions reminds me of the Maker. It reminds me that he is good, that he is wonderful, that he is beautiful, and that He is the source of everything that is beautiful and wonderful.
Listening to your music impresses upon me the idea that despite what I go through, that God is still able to take all that is ugly, painful, all that feels hellish, all that feels confusing and disappointing and hopeless, and to somehow bring out of all of that something that is impossibly beautiful. And that gives me hope.
So in short, God uses the gifts that he has given you to bring me hope, and to remind me that In the end, God wins.
And because God wins, truth will win, beauty will win, love will win, and everything that is ugly now, God will one day make beautiful and perfect-including me, if on that day I am found in Christ Jesus (which I pray will be the case).
A sweet man who sings sweetly the sweetest songs ever written, songs of gentle calm, hope and .....sweetness. Something our world forgets.

My 9yr old ass realized music could make you cry when I heard this song in a 1999 theater. My 29yr old ass still feels that way about it. Lots of bittersweet memories attached to it--you absolutely brought out those qualities here, & according to the other commenters, I'm not alone in thinking that.
