Cook (head of PC Music) said that actually the songs that sound the most real and genuine or whatever are actually the most heavily produced. I guess in the past it was just acoustic instruments but these days it's all digital, I suppose there's more control over that.

Idk, I get some weird feeling of underlying sadness listening to lyrics like this and Every Night..."I know you like the way that I look and it looks like I like you too, you know I do" very much implies that liking somebody is only looks. Or how the girls are almost always just being cute to meet boys, such as in QT, where the producer describes QT as a product to be advertised and sold, and if you see the music video, it's almost like the girl's the soda, and she's being packaged and sold to the boys in the music video (notice how at one point in time, the video vacillates between her and the can, implying she is the soda, and only the boys drink the soda, not the main girl)
Idk, I feel like it could be some kind of statement on hyper superficiality and the disconnect between the "ideal" world of girls perfectly matching with guys at parties and people not having to worry about anything but looks versus the actual world where none of it happens like that, but I'm also really really really high right now and am probably reading too far into it hahaha

This song shouldn't work... the lyrics are awkward and naive, the vocals are stilted and not perfectly in tune. However, it captures something fundmental about being a young person in the internet age. Having that crush but not knowing whether the person you're crushing on even exists, waiting for them to come online, hoping they've been doing something with a friend and that's why they haven't responded to you. Also, the chorus is one of the best pop hooks I've heard. I don't actually know anyone who doesn't like it.
