As Oktoberfest season is quickly approaching, I wanted to play some of the songs that are most requested at traditional Oktoberfest celebrations in the USA.

The Alex Meixner Band from New Braunfels, Texas is considered to be the hardest-working band in polka music today. Performing throughout the USA annually, Alex and his band have presented their dynamic and high-energy sounds at festivals as diverse as Wurstfest (New Braunfels, TX), National Folk Festival (Butte, MT); Cotati Accordion Festival (Cotati, CA); Gaufest (Sandusky, OH); Minnesota State Fair (St Paul, MN) and many of the largest Oktoberfests in the nation as well as concert halls, rock clubs and ethnic organizations from coast to coast. Alex, a Grammy nominee for his “Polka FreakOut” album with Bubba Hernandez is highly regarded for his traditional Austrian-German repertoire, as well as contemporary fusions with folk and pop music from around the world that make his shows entertaining for audiences of all backgrounds, while retaining the roots of the Alpine cultures that have developed in the USA.

Alex Great ! Accordion Playing, but in German there is an old saying "Wer Drei Sagt Muss Bezalen". In Germany it is Einz,Zwei, G'suffer. No Drei after Prosit. Think of song In Munchen Steht, it is Einz, Zwei, G'Suffer. Love your stuff anyway !
That's some interesting stuff-- I haven't had that comment-- but the observation makes sense in reference to In Munchen Steht ein Hofbrauhaus... I'll have to check it out more-- though it has obviously been pretty standardized in American German Oktoberfests... thanks for enjoying the music!

I approach the left hand of the accordion first from the perspective of a bass player- playing an accompaniment role to the lead and harmony on the right hand. Technique is developed through just wanting to play musically correct bass lines :)

I loved seeing u for years at Stoudts Oktoberfest in Adamstown Pa u always drew a great crowd I wish Sierra Madre had been part of this video still enjoyed tho 🙋🏼♀️❤️
