  • Conversation with trainer Phil Bauer Monday morning at Churchill Downs, shortly before Rigney Racing's colt Iroquois Stakes winner Jonathan's Way went to the track, jogging a mile and then galloping a mile. Bauer and owner Richard Rigney will have two rooting interests in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, with Rigney having also bred Saturday's 3-for-3 Champagne winner Chancer McPatrick, the now two-time Grade 1 winner trained by Chad Brown. Bauer trained Chancer McPatrick's dam, Bernadreamy, who could only win a maiden race in nine starts but who is a daughter of Dream Empress, winner of Keeneland's Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades.
