Not categories. Different people receive different but complementary gifts from the Holy Spirit called charisms. We are called to cultivate all of them, but because we will be stronger in one area, that is what we do most of the time, according to each one's "gifts" and talents.
The word he's searching for is Charisms -- not categories. And the Church doesn't say that people of certain orders cannot partake in different charisms, She just uses charisms to help identify between the orders (which helps individuals discern different orders of the Church). Across the ages in the story of the Church, we have been able to identify in the saints and religious founders, a very particular grace or charism that reflects brightly the life of the Spirit. These founding charisms belong to the church - to all of us, as a spiritual energy that is constantly reincarnated and adapted to different times, places and people. Specific charisms do NOT belong to an individual order. All orders in the Catholic Church experience mysticism, and practice charity, and study, so on and so forth, different Saints and orders just live out that life in ways. Sincerely, my biggest gripe with Orthodoxy (or at least this channel) is it's misrepresentation of Catholic practices. 🙄
Its got to be deliberate at this point, there's pretty much no excuse for this level of misrepresentation in the digital age. A simple Google search will refute what this orthodox priest teaches. Orthodoxy seems to attract a certain type of person, usually contrarian in nature, particularly among western converts.
Lutheran here, I wasn't real impressed by this channel's explanation of Sola Scriptura either. I think it behooves us as Christians to be far more gracious when it comes to our theological differences. Over generalization, especially when we don't practice that particular tradition, is unkind and un-Christian.
And yet the truth is one . Orthodox is the same church since the beginning and Catholicism isn't. You own pope admitted "orthodox refused later developments" , the church of Christ doesn't have developments and doesn't want to put man in the place of God . Love you brother come back to the truth.
