Oof, orange should be the same orange, and black should still be black and offered. The blue reminds me of when I got my 11 Pro Max, and they offered blue. I remember those phones on resale markets got the least interest from customers, and so this blue is also giving me that same feeling :( I love the orange, but, someone ruined it for me by calling it the Trump phone. lol
I can't believe they got rid of black and replaced it with orange! I think it looks horrible... I can't imagine Steve Jobs walking on stage and whipping out an orange iPhone
Shoutout to the interviewers for making more uncomfortable questions compared to most people (who don't have enough courage). It's nice to hear different answers and trying to go off-script instead of being just a fake promo with the same specific terms and marketing poems. Some answers were too safe but at least you guys tried to push real answers out
they completely dodged the question about Apple Intelligence lmao, these apple figureheads are promoted based on their ability to do that it feels like.
Listen again … Whenever they asked about future products Joz will just say ”let’s take a step back” or ”let’s talk about what we have right now” and go back to their prepared talking points. This is why experienced Apple reporters don’t ask these ”difficult” questions - they know they won’t get an answer, so it’s just a waste of time and questions. Better to ask interesting questions that they WILL get an answer to. Joanna Stern was a different situation. And that was a great interview, btw. If you want more behind the scenes for that one, she was on The Talk Show with John Gruber and discussed her interview in great detail there.
@savedfaves They were putting in artificial images of the moon to make photos of the moon look better. People found out because you could get the phone to replace a white small dot or ball with the moon in some cases. So the amazing moon photos they used for marketing and all was just completely fake because the phone just replaced white dots that were likely to be the moon with a preloaded image of the moon that wasn't taken on the phone
Photography questions were on point. Especially the one about AI putting info that is not there. Craig Federighi in an interview probably a year or two ago brought up that even though they are proud of the AI features in their cameras, they definitely want people to know that AI is not there to create something that was never there in the first place. And it was pretty awesome seeing Joz replicate that. Whether you don’t like Apple or you like Apple, you have to admit that a company taking a stand in the area where a few companies are standing is extremely impressive.
The "painting in the moon" comment made me laugh - I remember that and how the sh!t hit the fan at the time. So funny. It's a bit disingenuous though to say that they coined the term "neural" though for the "Neural Engine". Neural networks were a thing long before the Neural Engine. Neural Engine is a hardware implementation of a neural network.
The orange looks just so nice sitting on the table, can’t deny. I hope their philosophy going forward is not to just have the minimum number of colors that cover their bases, especially now that they’re back to aluminum. We could have the most number of color options for the pros now that there is the the easier to anodize material, so I hope they consider having more options in the future
I like how John answers. It feels more authentic and since he’s also an engineer, his answers are practical and insightful, not just boasting or dodging stuff.
Finally. Glad to see Apple is in agreement that a photo should be a moment in time, not some artificial creation of an AI algorithm. I have no use for those features...if I did I'd be using Photoshop, not my camera.
I love Apple and they choose to provide the products they want to provide but this doesn’t make a lot of sense. As soon as the technology exists, it has great use cases and an obvious feature the majority of users will expect. You mentioned it, changing photos is not new and will become as easy as taking it and you won’t be able to do anything about it. It just is and trying to fight it is not smart. They better find a clever way to implement it like they always do.
Well Apple crashed and burned and completely scammed their customers with "apple intelligence" so they can't do anything but try to play up the "a moment in time" bullshit because they have nothing to offer in terms of AI.
@CristianSenzatiethere are many AI apps in iPhone. AI in android will be a paid subscription starting 2026 and are also available in iPhone as apps. 95%+ of Apple Intelligence was already delivered...only the smarter siri and improved image creation are left, lol
I'd go further, they should provide the user a simple to understand way to tone down the in-app automatic post-processing. I remember a time you could photo a grey sky with an iPhone and what you got was a grey sky.
Why do “critical” questions matter as if they have something to answer to when they don’t owe you nothing they already made the best phone ever every year
Not exactly, it's a very dark navy. If you want a dark colour it's an option. If you don't want a case or to have to use a skin, and will only buy a black phone, then yeah, I guess you won't buy this.
@S0mewhat_Damaged Joz never said if you really want black then this phone is not for you. I’m just conveying it’s a dark navy with almost a touch of charcoal to it. It’s not a straight navy.
Apple doesnt like when people have everything in a matching colour, they want their costumers to pick something new and get out of their comfort zone. This is them basically forcing this idea. Also, you can pick every dark colour for a product they have and it not matching up exactly will create more visual interest. In a sense, it will look better. There is perfection in imperfection.
Thank you so much for asking about the digital zoom! 40X. Ok I've been wondering that since the keynote, and couldn't find anyone asking about it. I'd love to see how it resolves with the processing by the phone. I also find it interesting that they skimmed over the titanium as a feature discussion, as it pertained to the last two phones, and instead talked about the advantages of the aluminum. Did they make a feature for this phone by creating a heating issue on previous phones? lol.
Exchanging my 17 for the silver 17 Pro tomorrow in large part *because* of the aesthetic. I don’t think it’s the most beautiful iPhone ever but it does look very cool and unique. The 5G antenna is the biggest bother. I also plan to use the 17 Pro without a case, like all of my previous 5 iPhones. 🍎
great interview part 2. Greg said it clearest at the end, even though it still sounds soft and nebulous to folk. Apple is the leader in install base of running AI models locally. The press position that Apple is failing in AI is very misguided. Apple is a platform builder, not so much a product builder. If you are a developer, Apple's APIs for AI are very fly, the ease of integration, to quantise, run locally etc. its really top notch, and you know that the target HAS the hardware. Its hard to market that though, because it requires developers to make great products and that is happening but also not very showy.
I wish you guys had asked about the thermals on the Air because all the talk abou cooling, spread the heat over the body, etc makes a lot of sense on the air but they went on the opposite side with titanium, no vapor chamber and all the components squeezed at the top, so I'm curious how they are making sure that the is not going to melt 🫠😅
The discussion about the use (on the pro) of aluminum as an advantage of heat distribution makes me wonder for the iPhone Air use of titanium (for strength) how it will handle heat distribution...also no vapor chamber on the iPhone Air.
I am happy to see lavender on the base 17. I will get any shade of purple. Also upgrading for the A19 chip which should be faster than A15 in iPhone 14.
Love how hawkish Joz has become. I would love for John to have said how much better the new aluminium alloy is better at heat dissipation than the previous aluminium that they used before they switched to titanium - or - if the new vapour chamber is better in an aluminium unibody than a titanium unibody. Quite honestly I think it was the cost of titanium that made them switch back to aluminium more than heat dissipation. Would also love know why Apple chose not to use a vapour chamber inside iPhone Air, when Samsung decided to include a vapour chamber in the Galaxy S25 Edge.
I imagine they didn’t include a vapor chamber in the Air because of how thin it was already. I could be wrong, though. It also seems more oriented toward the Pro models, instead of a general iPhone feature.
I could definitely see cost being a factor, but the addition of the vapor chamber makes me think they genuinely were focusing on heat dissipation this year.
the 19 pro , this is like the 4th gen of 3nm and that they haven't got down to 2nm and the gaming phones had done water cooling so much better it also shows that the processer thermal throttles why isnt there any anamorphic lense
oh so you guys listened to people saying that the pro models should have te fun colors aswell and then make a crazy color instead of giving the pro models just the same colors. yea that's so logical..
So far, John Ternus looks to be the greatest possibility. It’s not likely they’ll go out of the company. Ternus would be good for products. How good he would be for what Cook is brilliant at, I don’t know. Too bad Williams is leaving, as he would have been great, but he’s just two years younger than Cook.
I like how Apple split the Pro line into the two reasons, one is the "having the best" crew for the Air and the other is technical earning money from team which is the Pro. It has let both focus on their needs. arguably the Pro range did not lose Titanium, Apple simply used it for that kind of Pro phone, best suited to the task. Split the Pro into two products, made the base itself super solid, worthy all by itself. Essentially the Base is the device that competes with the market, the Air and Pro compete with the Base, giving the customer two paths.
Joz is awesome! Where is the part where Joz throws them the new iPhone Air and they drop it then Joz tells them to try bend/break it? That is a dope power move right there by Joz
Well, instead of constantly changing the outside material from alluminium to glass, to titanium and back to alluminium again.... how about giving us something new we can truly benefit from. We really do not care about the chasi materials. For users, materials are anyway hidden behind the cover. How do I benefit from a constant change of iPhone sides or materials in the back, when the front I am looking at, is always the same. We also do not care where the flash or lens are situated. How do we benefit from moving the flash to the other corner of the phone?
I love how Joz doesn’t like to call it crop but in reality it is sensor crop lol 😅 the reality distortion field at apple is well alive even after Steve Jobs is no longer there lol 😂
5:35 Correction Joz: Aluminum will ALWAYS feel hotter at the skin compared to titanium! Because it conducts heat quicker and more effectively. So an aluminum phone would naturally always “feel” hotter but that resultantly means better thermal performance. Because it’s dissipating more heat more quickly. There’s a reason you are in marketing and not engineering. Please stop chiming in when the engineer is talking. You don’t have to be in marketing mode all the time.
Photography and video didn't improve at all in the two other 48mp cameras and that's a little disappointing. I wonder if the action button will ever do more than just one action. It can easily do a single and double click action, instead of just the current hold the button for an action. Even the camera control button can do more than just control the camera. It should have the ability to scroll up and down a page. Or if you hold and then swype up and down, you bring down and up the notification centre. How cool would that be? What's cooler is that the camera needs to adopt the continuous optical zoom feature that the Sony have done. That would be a game changer. That would slowly bring down camera lenses from 3 to 2 and then from 2 to 1. That would be a genuine game changer, if there was no digital zoom at all between 0.5x all the way to 10x and then everything past 10x was digital zoom. I'm not saying go for 0.5x to 10x right away. Do it slowly. Sony at the moment do 3.5x to 7.1x but they were going up to 5.2x so they increased it slowly. Apple can and should do that too. Start with 3x to 7x then 2x to 8x then 1x to 9x and eventually 0.5x to 10x
Why do “critical” questions matter as if they have something to answer to when they don’t owe you nothing they already made the best phone ever every year
Noooo orange will never be the new black bcuz after a few months that orange will be played out and have you questioning yourself what was I thinking 🤔
Is orange the new black?🤔
Ah I see what they did there. Orange being a homage to their lord and leader Trump.
Oof, orange should be the same orange, and black should still be black and offered. The blue reminds me of when I got my 11 Pro Max, and they offered blue. I remember those phones on resale markets got the least interest from customers, and so this blue is also giving me that same feeling :( I love the orange, but, someone ruined it for me by calling it the Trump phone. lol

nope
He was probably talking about the TV-show 😀
Shoutout to the interviewers for making more uncomfortable questions compared to most people (who don't have enough courage). Some body tell me why this guy is always on apples interviews, is he there to make sure we here what he wants us to hear
they completely dodged the question about Apple Intelligence lmao, these apple figureheads are promoted based on their ability to do that it feels like.
What a lot of marketing rubbish. I suggest people like Joz should be shunned

They’ll still dodge around it no matter how hard they try.
I like how Joz is like
Yeah, we dont look at smartphones as competition at all when it comes to video XD
Look up 12 bit DCG RAW on Pixel 10
@LukeVesty not even close
I'm sure Apple will release such functionality down the line and then it'll matter though @fs454
@LukeVesty haahahahahhahaah
@TheMCEagleshave a look for yourself!
Yes I’m so pleased they remembered it’s the PRO and focused more on performance, temperature reduction and ruggedness.
Why the ruggedness though? Who's taking an iPhone into the fucking field? lmao
@darkwoodmovies Me
@darkwoodmoviesto shoot movie
@darkwoodmoviesMe… and probably millions of others people take iPhones backpacking, camping, on the water, mountain biking, climbing, hiking etc
They didn't make it more rugged its bigger due to a larger battery.
15:46 our competitors painted moon into the scene. Samsung got cooked so bad 😂😂😂
lol trolling Scamsung.
lmaooo the roast 😂😂😂
What's that backstory?
celebrityrogeverything is air called post processing

Joz is pretty sharp lol, those shots at the competition were pretty funny
The head of marketing for a multi trillion dollar company is sharp.. breaking news!!
@dstein111you are a jackass… what a surprise!!!
The "painting in the moon" comment made me laugh - I remember that and how the sh!t hit the fan at the time. So funny.

I imagine there could be a new colour announced around January, that's been going on for a few years now
red, pink, BTS purple, ultramarine and so on will now be possible to pro iPhones❤❤
@PSy84I think this year is just a tester on the orange to gauge and peak further interest and next year theyll have a bigger influx of pro colours
Love cosmic orange. Typing this from my orange 17PM
8:06 “If you can push on a fish and see” 😂
😂
Joswiak's interviews remind me of Jobs
i love how they look genuinely excited when they talk about the products they have created
They are the best in the world 🌎
I like how John answers. It feels more authentic and since he’s also an engineer, his answers are practical and insightful, not just boasting or dodging stuff.
Joz has the right tone cocky he is the soul lot Apple

Great interview questions.
I like how they responded to most of the critical questions you guys asked
Why do “critical” questions matter as if they have something to answer to when they don’t owe you nothing they already made the best phone ever every year
Apple should continue to shoot these keynotes using the phone they’re announcing.
They do
They have been doing this for years now
It’s so interesting to hear them talking about competitors so often.
I am always amused that people are concerned about the color and than cover it with case.
THANK YOU!!!
Color still pokes out on the camera module, also some of us have clear cases😢😢😢
*Then
Well transparent cases do exist so….
13% of iPhone users don't use a case, 203 million users.
Joz is always super happy to be around the engineers and soak in their coolness
He is the soul of Apple he doesn’t need anybody to be cool
Their points just made my vision more clear about buying iPhone and made me more confident about it 💁🏼♀️❤️
not sure if its me only, the video is so quite that i have to adjust volume up and down between ads and video.
I love this press you're Apple is really stepping it up with promoting the phone those time instead of just releasing it and having us buy it
Great questions decent answers love it
Can’t wait to see whatever they have their good designers working on…
Came here for the part 2
Thanks for hopping on over!
Joz is like iJustine on steroids.
Why the sound is far worse in second part interview?
“Where’s the Black iPhone?”
“The Navy is basically black now”
What a ridiculous answer
Horrible response nobody wanted that ugly colorway that’s such a corporate dad aesthetic
Not exactly, it's a very dark navy. If you want a dark colour it's an option. If you don't want a case or to have to use a skin, and will only buy a black phone, then yeah, I guess you won't buy this.

Was this interview shot on iPhone 17 Pros too?
Not having black is a weird decision sales wise.
@13:10 Those "low light" night shots had plenty of fill light with high end lighting equipment.
Love this!
I just went all in, 17 pro max, crazy orange, 1tb! Let’s go!!
Great interview.. Amazing job everyone. Love it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for asking about the digital zoom! 40X. Ok I've been wondering that since the keynote, and couldn't find anyone asking about it. I'd love to see how it resolves with the processing by the phone.

I don't understand how their vapor chamber is any different than the one in say the S25U.
2:19 Nice to know Craig is still there as he is missing in keynote 😂
Next great step from apple would be to have center stage on the back camera, would love to take landscape vertical ❤
Yessss
Sweetheart it’s already one the iPhones on the back that’s why it’s so special they put it in tho he front lol you must have never had a pro iPhone
great interview part 2.

I love the Look of the pro phones
Just need that phone when you go deer hunting!
How many times were the words "incredible" and "amazing" used?
The simultaneous non co-ordinated 4 nods at the end :p
Thank you hope this is #2
They knocked it out of the park with Cosmic Orange! More fun colors on the pro please!
😂😂😂 is it out of the park if it's supposed to be cosmic? I assume your statement is a sarcastic one
I wonder why they don’t reintroduce pink to the pro, ideally a hot pink. I feel like that would sell well
trump orange
With the extra cooling… let us dual boot into Mac OS please 🙏
I am happy to see lavender on the base 17. I will get any shade of purple. Also upgrading for the A19 chip which should be faster than A15 in iPhone 14.
next year Greg “Joz” Joswiak would say iPhone 18 Pro is the best pro iPhone ever.
I think we can see out of the two who is going for the CEO position.
Too obvious 🤦🏻
The back cameras should have been able to shoot in landscape while the phone is being held vertical also, like the front facing camera. 😢 11:28
Literally thinking that color change = innovation
Love how hawkish Joz has become. They are using Binned CPU’s with fewer GPU and probably underclock it in the Air. No need for thermal enhancements…
the 19 pro , this is like the 4th gen of 3nm and that they haven't got down to 2nm and the gaming phones had done water cooling so much better
it also shows that the processer thermal throttles
why isnt there any anamorphic lense
Great interview! I wish Joz would let John Ternus speak more though!!!
Joz seams to be a quite uncomfortable person
@pazuzu002*seems, he is a natural leader and you two are simply haters. Ternus couldve spoke if he wanted to.
@hankagura5355hater….😂
Joz completely dodged the Apple intelligence question. Don’t hold out much hope for the terrible for years now Siri
If only every LLM had apps users could download in the interim. I've accepted Siri is drunk.
they ensure top privacy, yet they know exactly how many selfies you take.
Yet six years later we still can’t get black Air Pods.
Gee guys, can't you get your audio louder to match RUclips's standard. The advertisements usually try to reach this. But your audio level is too low.
oh so you guys listened to people saying that the pro models should have te fun colors aswell and then make a crazy color instead of giving the pro models just the same colors.
yea that's so logical..
so ho stop you to put aluminiu, in 15 pro or 16 pro :)? is not like apple was at the beggining of phone production ?
Was it recorded in a studio or in front of an audience?
I love Joz but sometimes he sounds like an Ai prompt chat bot trained only on Apple’s marketing documents.
what did you expect from apple's HEAD OF MARKETING damn
We need a another Joanna Stern Interview
The magenta on the thumbnail looks like T-Mobile Magenta 😮
You’re going to put a case on it 😅
Get a black case! LOL
great questions !!!!
Thanks for watching!
I really pray Joz is not the next CEO.
So far, John Ternus looks to be the greatest possibility. It’s not likely they’ll go out of the company. Ternus would be good for products. It’s in the first part of the interview on the other guy’s channel I think
why is the marketing guy in these interviews, he didn't work on the actual products...
Marketing people will take credit for everything if given a chance
13:18 either a lot of editing went behind their videos, or they shot it with a professional camera
incredible ... incredible ... incredible ... LOL
I hope they make another red iPhone. It’s been years years. I do miss that red iPhone.
1:56 Incredible, Incredible, Incredible, Incredible... Everything in 🍎is Incredible 🤣 even USB 2.0

Joz is too relaxed to be CEO
When the Apple design worked, there was less (or even no) explanation
Big mistake to drop black color.
did Joz just say AI as an Apple employee ! 11:54
Where is Craig Federighi?
He's the software guy, generally see him around WWDC, these events are more about hardware typically
@jakelamc1I was thinking that too, but I thought he would have made an appearance as all.
He only does iOS
The Apple Intelligence goals were the most collaborative Apple was, ever. As evidenced by the execution.
Where's all the women we saw in the presentation?
Maynard James Tucci
So awesome to have these two legends on your channel
Cant run on pc's? Is he joking? Its running great on my pc with a 5080
5:35 Correction Joz:
Aluminum will ALWAYS feel hotter at the skin compared to titanium!
Jerryrigeverything will expose that guy once he receives his iPhone 17 units! 😂
Be honest the amount of titanium needed for the frame was too costly. Y'all could've kept the titanium border and made the rest aluminum
I don't care what they say, not having a black phone is crazy. I'm not buying the blue one lol.
So this this advantage about aluminum for lowering temperature. So the air should overheat?😂
My wife is gutted there is no gold on the pro.
yes, worst colours ever
Well, I hope they make a brand new iPhone Air with two cameras and two speakers like most people want. We’ll see what happens.
Whoever was in charge of audio on this needs to find another line of work. 🤨
I hate to say it but I also like that orange
It would have been a great opportunity for Apple to introduce 8K recording at 60 fps with all that power of the A19 Pro… But didn’t sadly
Why do you care about 8k?
Why do “critical” questions matter as if they have something to answer to when they don’t owe you nothing they already made the best phone ever every year
Noooo orange will never be the new black bcuz after a few months that orange will be played out and have you questioning yourself what was I thinking 🤔
