Took me down memory lane.. I remember when all these songs came out. I don't think she's in her vocal prime anymore like when she was in her 20s, but she's still amazing.
i love Ailee's vocal, she's extremely skilled and extremely charming with her performances. The only thing i have to say though is she does lack a little consistency. Not always at 90-100% but that's still better than most singers out there hahah. In this performance for example, she sounds a little nasal, which is a tendency for her. The power and vocal prowess is still there, but the tone of her voice isn't always crystal clear. There are many performance of hers out there that is just so so so good; her slow rendition of "heaven" on begin again... my god
the nasal tendency only happened in 2021 to around early 2022 though. that was when she learned a way to not make her throat hurt that much especially for her tight schedules and she had an upcoming concert tour at that time, which is the nasal technique. nowadays, nasal isn't happening.
This nasal is one of technique of her! You can see that it is a technique, at the moment when in the middle of the video she takes more of this nose and goes to the chest voice, with a full voice.
@@suiim_jpn yeah it's possible that it's a technique, but you can hear that her full voice is also more nasally than usual. I've personally never heard of any singer that would resort to using a more nasally tone as a technique because the pronunciation and clarity of each note will be slightly muddy. It's not a negative criticism by any mean, Ailee is queen. But we've heard much clearer tone from her before and after this performance. Love her regardless

It's always nice to see someone who has heard of Ailee's songs albeit not knowing that it's her when the song was first heard.
