Fantastic Show - During the last Ice Age, 10,000 years ago, (the Wisconsin glacier) we were living in caves.
There were never any human beings (Homo sapiens) in the entire Western Hemisphere.
"Indigenous People" (originating or occurring naturally in a particular place) weren’t indigenous at all but walked over from Asia on the land bridge across the Bering Strait that was exposed during the Wisconsin glaciation.
At that time both North and South America had extremely diverse wildlife including the Mega fauna. As these folks spread from North to South America they had a major negative environmental impact and changed the face of the two continents.
They were here for the great American Mega fauna extinction, where 90 genera of mammals became extinct. The Late Pleistocene fauna in North America included giant sloths, short-faced bears, tapirs, musk hogs, lions, giant tortoises, cheetahs, saber-toothed cats like Smilodon and the scimitar cat, dire wolves, camels, stag-moose, shrub-ox and Harlan's muskox, 13 species of pronghorn went extinct, horses, mammoths and mastodons, giant armadillos, giant beavers, giant condors, nine-foot sabertooth salmon all were driven to extinction.
In the eastern woodlands ‘indigenous people’ tribes cultural traditions for dealing with captives of other tribes involved execution by torture. Burning the captive, which was done one hot coal at a time, was common. Captives fingers were broken and fingernails were ripped out. They were made to eat pieces of their own flesh, and were scalped alive. To make the torture last longer, the 'indigenous people' would revive captives with rest periods during which time they were given food and water. By these means, the execution of a captive, could take several days and nights.
In contrast to the Eastern Woodlands ‘indigenous people’ Western tribes enslaved war captives. Slaves were traded and were a valuable commodity. More importantly, slaves were given as gifts during a potlatch ceremony to enhance the prestige of the gift giver. Slaves performed major economic roles in this region, and comprised a permanent social class and a significant proportion of the population.
They divided the continents into constantly warring tribes and weren't exactly model citizens.

so beautiful....this concert........I just have a question, though, concerning the Ghost Dance song, it is such a GREAT song, but still, I have a BIG problem with part of the lyrics, in the part he mentions "Crazy Horse", and "Sitting Bull".....saying they were part of the Ghost Dance religion, Truth is , they were NOT........They were both very staunch traditionalists, Sun Dancers, NOT Ghost Dancers........ and they didn't beleive the words of the so called "prophet" Wovoka...(a Christian,) ...who was raised in the white Christian culture, not in the Native ways at all, and, sadly, who got all his ideas about the Ghost Dance from the bible......and , worse, he told lies, to the people, to fool them into thinking he was some kind of powerful Medicine Man, which he was NOT.........The end result of this lie, led to the deaths of many Natives, including the ones massacred at the place called "Wounded Knee".......and in a way, this also, led to the "2nd Wounded Knee", the uprising of AIM , in the 1970's...........which resulted in the deaths of at least 4 people, a couple of Natives, and, including 2, FBI agents that Leonard Peltier as wrongly accused of killing, and was convicted for..Now he sits in prison, for a crime he never did...and he will die there, in prison, despite all the calls for his release, based on the botched "legal trial" that sent him to jail.....Evidence now proves he did not kill the FBI agents, and still, he is in jail....He will die there soon....Sad..Tragic....History....Truth needs to be spoken.....so I am here to clear this up...for anyone who wants to know the truth..........The Ghost Dance, was, sadly, a phony, false, Christian based, made-up religious movement, spurred on by sheer, utter desparation, starvation, and suffering, and it only led to MORE strife and death, only....The founder of the Ghost Dance religion, Wovoka, was only trying to gain personal Power for himself...He used money, too, to pay off people to get them to help him fool the people....He was very very evil....corrupted by the white man's ways, and his phony CHRISTIAN BASED RELIGION......Notice, it is NOT a religion that exists today, it is a DEAD religion..and it does not exist at all anymore..... the way the Sun Dance does......Sun Dance is REAL........a very very ancient, very powerful, Sacred Ceremony, and that is why it still lives today...The Ghost Dance, was a travesty, one of the biggest tragic events that ever happened to the Native American People...and it was all Wovoka's fault, because he lied, telling people that if they did the Dance he made up, and adherred to the bible teachings, of" being kind, not fighting," etc, ( I mean , seriously, he told WARRIORS not to fight.....hmmmm)....and if they wore the "specially blessed protective clothing" he made, painted with "sacred designs," that" no bulllets would pierce them"...... and he caused all those people to die.....who WERE ALL shot to death.....HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE......SHOT TO DEATH......by the white man's bullets......So, Sitting Bull was NOT EVER "a great apostle of the Ghost Dance"..as Robbie said in this song, .(neither was Crazy Horse).....They didn't believe in it for a minute..and NEVER did the Ghost Dance......I SERIOUSLY do not know why Robbie said that....it is NOT true ...at all...So, I ask, WTF???? ...and I feel the Spirits of both Sitting Bul, and Crazy Horse , are NOT feeling too happy hearing their names spoken of falsely in this song.......Robbie needs to make an apology to them, and to all of us, for that...... because he had NO RIGHT to say their names in this song......in this way...by misrepresenting them...by disgracing them, by offending their Spirits in this way.......He should have told the truth, about how Sitting Bull, and Crazy Horse didn't beleive it.......He should write ANOTHER song about the "Ghost Dance", which tells the real truth about what REALLY happened....So many were killed, because of this desparate, phony religion, founded by a phony , a fake, a LIAR......Wovoka, and the truth needs to be told about him, and what he did, to cause the deaths of so many people, men, women, and children...all shot and butchered, and buried in a huge mass grave..at Wounded Knee...................PLEASE ROBBIE..........PLEASE........TELL THE TRUTH.......Write another song about it....and tell the truth.....

Why has the white man done all these well known crimes to the indians? Why are now killing the Russians the Ukrainians? The answer is: They thinks, the power gives them the right to do it. They think to be mighty means to be just. They are not able to see the difference. I´m very touched by Robbie and his "Band" here. I´m a "Charles" May reader from Germany and I´m sure, May would have loved this performance.
