If I am nominated, and I live in a different country, do I have to go to the country of the film festival?
Hello, not necessary, unless the festival specifies that nominees must attend, i didn't attend any of the festivals i won for The Red Dress because of travel expenses but i got some footage from the organizers when my film played in the theaters. Attending is more for you to network, meet new filmmakers friends and get inspired, for bigger festivals, you'd attend to network and sell you film. All the best!
Do you still receive spam festivals? I heard that they keep coming
I still receive a lot of invites yes, that's why I think having a dedicated email for your film is important so it doesn't get overwhelming when the festival cycle end.

Did you submit a trailer or the actual short film when you purchased the "Featured Project" marketing service?
I submitted the actual film :)
Do the festivals download your films? I mean currently Vimeo has to be paid for someone to download your film through link. So is it fine to just have the link and password ?
As far as I know on FilmFreeway, if a festival would like to download you project, they'll usually send you a notification. For submission, you only need to upload the film to their platform, or provide the link with password. I hope that helps!
