  • Goo Goo Dolls interview on MTV 120 Minutes with Lewis Largent (1993.04.18). Johnny Robby & George from the Superstar Car Wash era!!! Fun fact, the first show I ever attended was the Goo Goo Dolls at the Orchard Park Fire Hall on October 6, 1989!
Thanks to the legendary duo of Art & Steve who recorded and preserved the original 120 episode from whence this clip has been derived!
If you are an avid 120 Minutes fan and a trader/collector of actual episodes of the show, do please drop me a line. Although I have a fair number of shows, I am always looking for more in order to archive as many as possible, if you are willing to share, trade, or sell, please contact me.
If you recorded the show on VHS and still have your original video tapes but don’t have the capability of transferring to dvd and/or digital, I’d be more than happy to transfer them for you and send your original VHS back to you along with dvd and/or digital files.

So if you watch the Goo Goo Dolls Behind the Music and they talk about playing a bar Augusta GA in late summer of 1995(Just before Name blew up that fall), and the band talks 5 people and a dog (something along that lines!!!) showing up to the show, I was one of those 5 people !! It was more like 20, but only about 5 people were watching band. They still played a full set though, and they came down and talked to us after the show. I remember Robby telling me Name was gonna be the next single off the LP, and the lable was really going to push it to radio/MTV and so forth, and they had their fingers crossed that it got some traction. It worked out for them !

Being Buffalo born & raised myself I always have a soft spot for the Goos!!! They were my very first show at a fire hall near the Bills stadium in 1989 that ended with everyone rushing the stage at the end and an ambulance being called for a girl that got injured, not severely as Robby told me a few years later when I interviewed him! I also saw and hung out with them on that same very small club tour in 1995 before Name blew up....Goo times!!!

Needed this. I became a goo goo doll fan late in 98. In high school I studied the music. As a vet now trying to live as a vet and leaving the war behind, I find myself trying to connect to that golden moment when music touched my soul. Really needed this.

Front to back. I grew up with that record....cassette. I actually wrote (pen to paper) to Metalblade Records when I was like 12 because I had Hold Me Up and they sent me a compilation cassette that had I'm Awake Now (by the Goos) on it. Still have it with the letter and catalog they sent. Good times.
