Hey Amaury, I'm so happy none of the family was hurt and the Castle is standing strong! I know you have a mess to clean up in the grounds with all the downed trees (WOW) some of those trees were massive, but that will be a lot of firewood for some time. Hey Hey,. we were in the middle of the storms too in Holland. It was horrible. My house was shaking. A fense in my back garden broke and blew to the middle of my garden. But i didn't have any other damage. This year has been full of storms first we had Corrie then Dudley and Eunice and Franklin. I am happy that it's over and the sun is even shining now and it's 8 degrees. Going outside for a bit soon. Sorry you lost so many trees Amaury and that you had so much work because of it. Here in the Southeastern part of America the weather can be devastating. I’m so glad you are all safe and the castle only receive a small bit of damage. I hate going to our “safe place” when we get tornados 🌪 even though it’s called that you feel so helpless.
I’m really sorry you had so much damage! The one tree looked like it exploded! I can’t imagine having to do all that work by myself. My sister lives in England and half of their garden blew away. Coming from Florida and now living in tornado alley, I know how scary wind can be on a first hand basis. I’m glad most of the damage was to landscape. You have to feel for all the creatures who lost their homes. Seems like your geese? Managed to ride it out really well!

That was a fierce storm! You’ve got your work cut out for you with so many trees to clear now. I remember you said that you don’t allow any real candles inside the chateau so does that mean you don’t use the fireplaces? You must have mountains of firewood. Anyway be careful clearing all of those trees. I’m glad there wasn’t a lot of damage to the chateau. xx
Hi Amaury, It certainly was a very bad storm and I’m sorry you last so many trees. It affected us here in Kent UK badly and we were without power for two days - some were without for much longer. Did you lose power too?
You really need to wear chainsaw trousers, proper boots and a face shield. Even experienced people get injured. Not worth the risk. My brother is a tree surgeon and once his chainsaw hit his leg, but luckily he was wearing the trousers, so he was unharmed. Worth the investment.
Where is your eye protection when using the chainsaw???? In Australia we have trousers with a reinforced front so no chainsaw injuries to your legs. Good luck with the clean up. SAFETY FIRST 😀😀

Shame about the trees but at least nobody was hurt & the chateau is still in one piece....plenty of fire wood.

I’m wearing my chainsaw trousers when using the chainsaw, it has some reinforced fibre inside. Négatif point for eye protection, you are right.
