Well... Apparently in Japanese culture beauty isn't masculine or feminine as it is in semi-screwed up westernized culture(every culture is semi-screwed up, so no, I'm not picking on anyone... unless it's everyone) so, since Kaneki is supposed to be Japanese, he probably is 'pretty'.
Idk, words get engendered and it screws language up. At least when you only do it a little bit like with how English does it. If all words were engendered it'd be better than just a few.
