Great turnaround for Sale. Ben Curry has been outstanding. If Earle is an 8 then Curry really should be strongly considered to be starting this summer. Rodd has also made a huge difference. Englands best all round prop. Has to be in the England 23.
For me Curry has been Stella during the post Christmas run in to the end and I agree with you re Bevan Rodd but for me the return of O'flaherty to the back line, his desire for work has made the Sale attack that bit more potent, Reed has scary pace but I think his all round game offers a bit less than O'flaherty. Come on Sale.

i dont understand it either, hes clearly in control of the ball at the point of grounding. separation like that wouldn't be defined as a knock on, so why is it not defined as a try?
@@misterkunnyfunt Laws are clear - well, as clear as the 8 trillion laws can be. It *is* actually defined as a knock on because having lost control of the ball, he is not deemed to have regained control. He would have had to catch the ball (even in one hand) for that condition to have been met. Same applies to a ball lost forward but kicked before it hits the ground - it is a knock on. The only thing you can do without recatching is scoop it backwards so by the time it hits the ground, it is deemed to have been lost back and therefore not a knock on.

Well yes, but surely it would be seen as his regaining control as he had his hand back on it before he grounded it. I get what your saying, but surely even if he lost control, he had his hand back in the ball by the time it was placed, hence it shouod be a try? I’m thinking as you compare it to dropping the ball normally, it’s only a knock on if it hits the ground or another player, so surely it’s not one?

So why was Cowan Dickies try not awarded?
Apparently the player must be in control of the ball when scoring. Luke Pearce said that he didnt like the law himself when the players asked him about the decision. Unfortunately he has to give a no try decision because of the law, whether he thinks the law itself is bollocks or not. I think that Pearce saying that he disliked his own decision should be in these highlights as it otherwise can get taken out of context for people that never heard it, some might call him a shit ref but he is the best in the prem IMO.
@@hugoagnehall9777i think the game was officiated really well, brute of a game with plenty of big personalities but they kept a lid on it.
You have answered your own question. In your scenario, the player regathers, C-D did not. Pushing the ball downward onto the ground is not deemed to be back in control so he did not regather it - he needed to catch it.
So therefore the correct call is that he lost the ball forward.
@@Karma-qt4ji So the rationale being, if it wasn’t for the ground, he would have knocked on. I can see the logic, but in this case I think he had enough control.
@@martynslinn6607 I didnt get to watch all of it but i really like the bit where Pearce told off Bevan Rodd. Funny that. I think Pearce has a good feel for the game but what sets him apart as the best is his communication and work with the players. My favorite ref for a while now, not just as refs in the prem go but overall.
