Can I just say what a great job you are doing with your kids and what great kids they are? Watching a family work together is a rare and precious thing. Too many parents are failing to teach their children how to work and more importantly how to work as a team with a good attitude. Blessings on your family and God is indeed good.
I once picked cherries from a tree at my grandma's and took the cherries to my Mom's house where my Mom's Sister was visiting....my Aunt Bonnie and we spent at least an hour pitting cherries and another making cobbler and we all agreed I wouldn't ever bring cherries over again the cobbler was delicious and the memory I have of spending time with my family is precious. My Mom died when she was just 49 but that memory and my love for her lives on
You are a special family and love those kids how they help you so much and still have fun and get breaks. So sweet in this world today you have down an amazing job with those kids. God Bless all of you.
I was fortunate to visit and spend time with a Hutterite family in Manitoba, Canada. What an incredible day! I enjoy watching you and when I am having a rough day, I play you in the background because it feels like a friend is in the room!
I listened to part of your series when you were being interviewed by some woman and you were talking about them the things that your mother did and you said it was because it was routinely done and she it wasn’t her favorite thing to do but she did it and you came to enjoy that and feel love through it your subscribers and the people that watch you even though you’re not our moms are we feel the love that you put into making the pies for your family and we enjoy it and feel the love thank you so much many of us don’t have our mothers with us at 74 years old but we can search your your subscribers can certainly feel the love that you put into it and enjoy what you do thank you so much we feel the love you put into it for your family and we enjoy it just as much as they do thank you thank you God is good
I'm planning to can my potatoes dry on Monday as I got several of them peeled and cut up today and I just left them in water so they won't be so starchy. Thank you for all of your videos they are wonderful I love watching all of your family work together it's just such a blessing
Agree, in my years, learning from grandma a d great grandma, we only filled to the product line. We never covered the lids. For putting a cherry, A plastic or metal drinking straw, and an empty single severing drink bottle pits cherries very quickly too. Set the cherry on the lip of the bottle, push the straw through. The pit falls into the bottle.
Are these sour cherries or are they sweet Bing cherries? Where did you buy the cherry pitter attached to the quart jar? That pitter would be wonderful to have when you have to pit a lot of cherries. That is not something that can easily be found in Texas where we don’t have cherry trees. How I wish we did.
I also have a tart cherry tree. This year was so cool and rainy I didn’t get the cherries sprayed for Western Cherry Fruit Fly, so I had way too many worms in the cherries to want to deal with. I juiced some and let the others hang on the tree. It was so sad. I pit all my cherries myself with one loop of a paper clip bent out. It’s basically the same as the bobby pin, but leaves the cherry more intact, I think. I love cherry pie filling and cherry pie! Thankfully, I still have some from last year. I have started adding red food coloring to my canned cherry pie filling, as it doesn’t seem to stay bright otherwise.
I love that you can outside so as not to heat the house up. I heard you say you were using the camp chef and would like to order one for myself. There are a bunch of options. Can you give me more detail please.
So, I bought frozen pie cherries from Azure - can I go about it the same way? Thaw first? What ideas would you have - I also like to make them into sour cherry jam - 3 of us love this taste.
Your pie crust looks just my mom used to and she gave me her recipe but I can’t make a pie crust to save my life is there anything you can help me with
Help!!! I used clear gel on this recipe and it’s just like a thick soup! It did not set up! Yours is thick and set immediately. It’s been 20 minutes and mine is not getting any thicker! If I can this, is it going to thicken too much in the jars and not seal? Also, if it does not second like yours does, how can I thicken later to use it for pie!
Hi, RuthAnn, I was watching your video and I asked google why feed cherry pits to pigs, and this is what I got: "Cherries contain pits that can be harmful if consumed by pigs. The pits contain cyanide, which is toxic to pigs and can lead to poisoning. Additionally, the high sugar content in cherries can cause digestive issues for pigs. Therefore, it’s best to avoid feeding cherries to pigs to prevent any potential health problems."

Love your channel...Do you have a good pie crust recipe please? I'm terrible at pie crust.
I miss our cherry tree. I would eat right off the tree and a friend you know there is a worm in those cherries. I said I don't care extra protein. LOL
How long and at what temperature do you bake the cherry pies?
Do you have a pie crust recipe you love? Would you be willing to share your favorite recipe for pie crust? Love your videos! :)
My crust recipe is on my Instagram!!! Under recipe highlights
do you have any good tips to keeping birds away from your harvest?
So, I bought frozen pie cherries from Azure - can I go about it the same way? Thaw first? What ideas would you have - I also like to make them into sour cherry jam - 3 of us love this taste.
Thaw them first, and save the juice from them to use when the recipe calls for water. Everything else is the same. 😊
Could you use arrow root powder instead of clear jel?
I would love to know where your Mennonite store is. We live in Independence and have many Amish stores to shop here.
My mom never put the water over the jars either.
Where do you get the mason jar cherry pitter?
Your pie crust looks just my mom used to and she gave me her recipe but I can’t make a pie crust to save my life is there anything you can help me with

Raised by a Puritan family and we filled to product line.. 😊😊
Is there any way to can cherries without the sugar??
I do can them plain without sugar some years when we get more than we need for pie filling.
