My buddies and I went for a golf trip in Scotland 2018, a few months before you were there during the Open. The most notables courses We've played were prestwick, the jubilee and old course and finished with Kingsbarns. Needless to say it was a fantastic trip. In kingsbarns, we were given high wind tees, which I hadn't seen before, coming from north america. I was playing with golfers with 2 and 0 handicap and they were not allowed to tee off on the back tees which was a surprise to us, they would only let players with + handicap from there. Anyway, we had a blast and kingsbarns was one of the course we enjoyed the most.
Played Kingsbarns 4 years ago in May. Beautiful fantastic experience. Enjoyed it more than the Old Turnberry. Played 8 Open tracks, the Old Course tops them all for me..the history, the town, graves of Old and Young Tom, Alan Robertson. Kings course at Gleneagles was up there too. Loved Crail too. Fife is just majestic. I'd ask the pro for a game with him, even though he would flat out refuse 😄 Great stuff James
Great video! I’ve never played golf in Europe. All these course vlogs you and other you tubers are constantly posting have me more and more desperate to get out there.
Hi James, That was a great comment about concentrating on working your way round the course rather than how pretty your swing looks. What a stunning course to walk around.
I haven't played many courses in my life, but the best I've ever seen was the Sherman Hills golf club in Ridge Manor FL. Very undulating and perfectly manicured. Bunkers were pristine and you could easily tell the fairway from the rough, a rarity for most public courses. Perfectly green, no brown whatsoever, and not a weed in sight. Perfect.
I had an awesome week in Ireland in 2015; Castlerock, Ardglass, Royal Portrush, Royal County Down, Portmarnock. All were incredible bu Royal County Down was something special!!
Great video. The message about getting the ball in the hole not worrying about swing positions and hitting it perfect is a key one. Us amateurs just don't get it.
It seems now you have 10,000 subscribers the sky's the limit. The best two courses I have played are Pezula golf club and Stellenbosch in South Africa.
Best course I've played: tie between Emirates Golf Club (Dubai Desert Classic) and Abu Dhabi Golf Club (HSBC Championship). Both courses are amazing gems in what otherwise would be desert wasteland. Coming in 2021: The Old Course (and others in the area) for my 50th birthday, which happens to be the week prior to The Open.
Sorry James I know you said favourite, but I have two. Kings barns & Royal St George. Scored better at Royal St George, but Wow... what an absolute stunning course kings barns is (even though my score was S##T)
One question?! I have a ton of questions 😂 I’d probably want to know most about how they strategize and adapt to misses. I’d like to see their practice routine as well. Especially short game.
Thanks for the comment and the great content James. I played Dornoch when I was a decent 8 handicap. An American 2 handicapper from Oakmont (US Open host) was my playing partner. It was a perfect sunny, windless summers day, we both hit it pure off the first and said "if we can't score well today we can't play the game". The second bit us both on the backside and by the 7th we were thinking we might run out of golf balls. I think we both gave up scoring around about the 14th. Fantastic venue. Allegedly Ben Crenshaw is designing a course on the caravan site I stayed at Embo, that might help the Open go there.
I moved from Wakefield to Scotland. There's loads of great courses up here and you don't pay a fortune to play them. I'm a member at Goswick golf club. It's a James Braid championship course and it costs me £540 a year!!! If you fancy a guest round...gimme a shout 😀
You lucky sod James🏌🏽 best course I've played was in Tenerife can't remember name it's there PGA course in los cristianos brill course shit staff though just wanted our 💰😂🏌🏻🏌🏻👍👍
One of the nicest course I’ve played on would be Bonville golf resort in New South Wales Australia, James you would absolutely love it
Great insight into the pro's game, well done James
Thanks Alan! :)

The reason for that is ur buddies would play off 8 if they played at kbarns all year round😂😂😂

Hi James,
That was a great comment about concentrating on working your way round the course rather than how pretty your swing looks. What a stunning course to walk around.
Played the course several times loved every minute of it 😍😍

Great video. One of your best I think.

Wow wha a week!
Just played Faldo in Portugal couple weeks ago. Tough
Playing kingbarns next April 🤗🤗
For me I would say Torrey pines (north course). The cliff views are outstanding and it’s the most challenging course I’ve played to date.
I do like playing Nefyn in wales especially the back 9 of the old course 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Antony Gwynne superb 👍 driving over the peninsula and the par 3 from the lighthouse
By far the best course i have played is Druid Glenn in Ireland. Just fantastic.
Great video. The message about getting the ball in the hole not worrying about swing positions and hitting it perfect is a key one. Us amateurs just don't get it.

Excellent vlog. Your enthusiasm shines again. He's a cracking player and if he's patient and stays free could do very good. What's his name.
One question?! I have a ton of questions 😂 I’d probably want to know most about how they strategize and adapt to misses. I’d like to see their practice routine as well. Especially short game.
best course I played was the Old White TPC at The Greenbrier. Shot a 99 the day after the pros left last summer. It was tough.
I would ask him how his hands feel through impact and where he gets his power from. They make it look so easy !
Playing this course later this month......both excited and scared 😂
Either the Old Course St Andrews or Royal Dornoch as the most awesome courses I've played. Dornoch should Soooo be on the Open rota.
Absolutely agree!!! Even the strewie scourge is great

Joking! I’ve just moved to Wakefield! May have to take you up on that!
Although I love the Courses in Fife, my favourites have to be Carnoustie and Cruden Bay. Kingsbarns will be a Gem in a 100 or so years!!!!
Tryall Country Club Jamaica & Kaluakoi golf course Molokai Hawaii are the 2 best courses I have played
Waterville and Tralee are the joint best Ive played!
Can’t beat Fife for golf I’m lucky I was born and grew up playing golf in Leven and now a member at Burntisland Golf House
Best course I ever played was Torrey Pines, San Diego.
Toss up between Kings Barns and Turnberry. Also Streamsong in US
All fantastic courses Craig!!! Lucky man!
Can't find him in the leaderboard. How did he do?
PD: These guys are good.
How do you keep such a consistent tempo in your swing time after time? Is there a particular swing thought you have to help?
My favourite is ganton
question for pro. Whats the best advise for a an amateur you would give.
How does a tour pro relax before hitting a shot especially off the tee?
Kings Course @ Gleneagles
