I'm making the effort to cook for my dog to improve his health. I figure the better the quality the heathier the dog and the less I pay for Vet bills in the long run!
I learned this the hard way years ago when I had a batch of Six stray cats I was feeding and 5 died of cancer and 1 of renal disease from the cheap kibble I was buying back when I was young and poor. Ranging from ages 8 to 11 they came down with dread disease and died. Considering they were living indoors with my ex who was a smoker they needed a LOT better diet than what we thought we could provide with my ex home injured/depressed unable to work but not getting disability until years later. Spending more on a quality diet for our animal family members saves lives and quality of life for them. It's worth it from my perpective.

@@64maxpower$$ not all countries have accessibility to cheap yet good food. A crockpot here is crazy expensive too. This food would cost about 3/4 times what their cold pressed kibble does. I try to add fresh food as much as possible though, 3/4 times a week.
@nicoledijkhoff5097 I understand. I agree. Making my own food is expensive. I weigh the sacrifice against how much I love and need my dogs. I've made the decision to dedicate my life to my dogs. never not once have they let me down

After import tax, other taxes and transportation, most appliances and fresh foods (meat, cheeses, deli) cost 3/4x times what they did when initially bought in the US. Our salaries aren’t in USD. We live solely on tourism. I’ve personally hunted rabbits for my dogs, but that is all we got😂. We have goats, but those are owned and passed down through generations. 120.000 people live on this island

Good food for dogs may be expensive but they will get sick a lot less...good food is good health for dogs and is like health insurance
You pretty much covered everything. I would occasionally add some oysters, turmeric, erbs like parsley, cilantro, and switch up the organ meat occasionally if possible.

No, you need a mix of hormone secreting organs at all times never just liver , and heart doesn’t count it isn’t hormone secreting. Dogs need liver but it is extremely rich in nutrients and will specifically cause vitamin A toxicity if fed as the only organ.
Secondly there is no bone or nearly enough calcium for a dog in this recipe.
Third , dogs shouldnt have their food cooked, they’re meant to eat it raw, humans are the only living things meant to eat and digest cooked food.
Better than kibble though props on that , any real food is far superior.
@@milesralls7972that’s why supplements need to be added. I think there was no fat or am I missing something? I also add fruits and rice. With the rice my dog can digest it much better.

Can we use instant pot to cook the same in short time?
Yes! This is wonderful! I sometimes give my dog a tiny bit of plain kefir, and some nutritional yeast and a pump of fish oil in his food once everyday. He loves kefir and fish oil!
Great video ! That's a awesome conjuction of meats, healthy solid meal. I do the same and prep good healthy meals for my dog too.
We cooked beef liver for our dog mixed with her other home cooked food and she HATED the beef liver. I had to add bits of it to little dapples of yogurt and freeze them to make supplemental treats.
Please make sure you're checking your dog's renal function (kidneys) If not every 6 months come a yearly because the higher the protein amount, the higher the phosphorus and that's a lot of work for the kidneys.

I love your ingredients just perfection. I’ve been lacking in the amount of salmon such that I should be giving my pups and I started paying attention more to that so I love that you threw that in the mix. I love that you keep the carbohydrates almost closed to none given that kibble from the store is almost all carbohydrates, I mix a bit of dry food through the day a half-and-half pretty much because I’m not able to make the food all the time so I love what you’re doing and I use the crockpot too

Why feed a dog veggies though? Its a carnivore. Could, in high doses, be bad for him. But props for feeding some real meat. Just make sure he gets reasonable fat in his diet.

Nonsense; it’s the opposite. Dogs don’t need grain, sugar, or any of that stuff. All they actually need is meat and organs.

I give my dog limited grains via human scraps too, I just don't think that its their natural diet. To each his own. Besides, 'large quantities of plant-based ingredients'??? what person{s} did this? I see people giving scraps of meat and bones but large quantities? Again, historical revisionists at work.

Everything is perfect except vitamin E because it's synthetic. Instead use Tocotrienol supplements..

I cook for my dogs 2 - 3 * a week and I make enough to last and I make food that I like so we can all eat together there's no reason I should make stew for me and stew for them so it's got to be delicious because I eat it as well. That looks terrible

I don't know why you would mix so many things together I would make them four or five different meals out of all of that so that one day they could have the nutrients of good news from the salmon and the next from the turkey I don't think mixing it all together is a good idea

Too many proteins together, it’s truly not the best. Choose one protein according to your dog’s nervous system. White meats relax, red meats make them increase energy and temper. Limited Ingredient Diet: Best wat to go, instead!

I started getting a little frugal with raw feeding my cat. Befriending local butchers and farmers help you get off cuts for free like certain organs or pieces that people won’t eat. It looks super expensive but when you know where to source your meats for your babies it’s honestly as much as regular dried kibble, sometimes cheaper.
