Awesome video! Just used it to educate my 6 year old nephew who was asking about why the bridges were going up and down in Watch Dogs.
This is a wonderful video. I see the first two bridges all time but never while being raised. I'm very impressed with the first bridge shown, I didn't know it went straight up like that. That's very neat!
Integration of water ways and road ways is amazing. It actually brings lot of efficiency.
Very impressive. I've been honered to operate the st charles airline bridge. I'm the bridge tender. Its a piece of history I can tell my grandkids someday.
This is just marvelous
Great work Ryan. Mayor Kane would be proud!
Great shots and great editing. Must have been a ton of work to collect all the necessary footage to get so many different angles. Well done!
Great work!!!!
Even though the recording is significantly sped up, all those sailboats are excursion boats look decidedly chaotic.
This is a good video, thank you.
There are 17 bridges in the windy city.I worked on a tug that traveled the river and we were low structured so no bridge raising was necessary.Just my 2cts.
Thanks! Yeah it was a fair amount of work, but well worth it I think.
I thought Portland Oregon has many bridges but I think Chicago has us beat😔
Ugh. Copyright infringement!?! But the music was PERFECT.
1:56 "Dub. Dub. It's a dub."
Forgot those bridges are needed for regular traffic and freight
Really? Were you operating the bridge in the fall of last year (2012)? If so we have have "met". One day I was taking pics on the East side of the STC Airline just before it was due to raise, and the operator (you?) called to me from across the river warning me that she was about to move the bridge. I'm enamored by that bridge and would love to know if there's a way to access the West side of it (the roads over there seem restricted). Cheers!
Thanks for the note. I just sent you a direct message to your inbox here on youtube. I'm not too sure how well those direct messages work, but hopefully it'll get through to you and I'll be able to learn a bit more about your operational role with that bridge, etc.
what web site can you find the times they open the bridges? i was told Chicago only opens the bridges at different times of the year
What was the old song? My 4 year son is dying to hear it.

colleen campbell The intended background music is "Separator" by Radiohead.
I'm currently operating it on an extra board. That was my co-worker last year. I don't like saying to much on here. There are homeland security concerns as any operating location in chicago. Give me another contact info
Tour boat Captains earning their money.
Chicago should get rid of those bridges
