Performing this show was the best,I wasn't in chino hills, but my school bought it and it is one of the best shows you can ever play. We were in intermediate A, though.
Indoor percussion has been around for a long time; you can only recycle ideas so many times. Groups have to constantly come up with new ideas that have never been done before in order to succeed. I remember when most schools didn't even have floors to pull out. Now everyone has them. Whether you like this particular direction or not, it'll be a whole new direction in a few years anyways. Evolution.
Honestly still one of my favorite Wgi shows in general. Simple concept and way less theatrical than a lot of what you see nowadays, but executed really, really well.
It's shows like this that make being in a competitive drum line (for any school) something memorable. Thank you, Box-Six, for making so many amazing shows...Can't wait to see what's coming next year!
the way i see it is, these groups are performing and entertaining while telling a story/carrying out their theme/etc. If performing choreography to a kinda cheesy song or having a video monitor on the floor with you helps enhance the show...then you should do it! Personally, i like that kind of stuff with a show, but thats just me
Personally I thought the tvs that Ayala had were a bit out of place and the show worked better without them but dancing to never gonna give you fits well with the shows message, its something fun that no one would ever expect. The shows about changing from leading your life doing the same thing every day to and encourage that you get out and do something exciting with your life even if it is as meaningless as going out and doing something ridiculous that no one saw coming and brought
And it's not just entertainment, it's only logical that WGI group expand their artistic palette just like any other art has with growth. As long as groups don't win solely because of their entertainment value and general effect, I personally see nothing wrong with diversifying the activity.
Depends. Are you talking about the single drum, or the multiple set of drums? If it's the first, that's a snare drum. If the second, those are tenor drums.
Well, you must have played it not too long ago... Predictable, along with it's 3 movements, only just came out last year. And for those about to call me stupid, im talking about the drumline show, not the Rick Astley song.
Hey I know this may seem kinda random, but I just wanna say great show! I actually knew someone in your drum line but I lost contact with him and was wondering you could tell him good job from me :). I'm pretty sure he is Bass 6 and I was with him in the all-county middle school honor band while he was drum captain at townsend. My names Roel the short mallet player if he forgot who I was ^.^
Haters gonna hate... Sorry for trying to entertain while still being musically legit! It must be tough for you to sit through these painful productions...
I like chino hills and plenty of their previous shows, but I didn't like this one. idk, it just didn't hit home for me. regardless they are great performers and musicians and they tried something new, which is more than many groups can say they do.
And here I thought being conservative couldn't apply to drumlines... Just goes to show how far people will with trying to put down the innovative. Rick rolling is a joke among teenagers, so yes, they know of it, and likely loved the idea. Pushing the envelope is part of self-expression. Following the status quo and repetitive tradition is not self-expression, it's imitation. What they find fun and entertaining is what they perform -- it's not like the staff forces them to be in drumline.
I miss performing this show so much. #ChinoHillsQuads2012
Ezekiel Roxas dude do u have an mp3 if this

For some reason, I'm enjoying it. (:

in PSW you get rickroll'd
in PIW you get "we will drown them in their own blood!" lol
I'd say that Rick Roll...wasn't very predictable.

I was Rick Rolled so hard my computer froze at 3:33... not even joking lol
Dayton is gonna one big party.
I still want to know what a trophy drum (how ever you spell it) sounds like.
god i love going to my school
Chino Hills has made me actually like getting rick rolled...
I propose the top rated comments should not be about the surprise, for people who don't know what it is :]
he is talking bout the trophy drums.
You can see Ian Grom spazzing out in the front row
i'm sorry, but that arnold schwarzenegger punchline part gets me every time.
What is the song before the announcers speak?
Any one want to tell me what those tiny marching drums are called? Like a specific name?
I was Rick Rolled so hard my computer froze at 3:33 lol
i want to sign up... just take my money!
Timpani solo was so tasteful :]

Haters gonna hate...
Sorry for trying to entertain while still being musically legit! It must be tough for you to sit through these painful productions...
Weird ass show. But I guess that goes along with the theme of not having be being predictable.
I like chino hills and plenty of their previous shows, but I didn't like this one. idk, it just didn't hit home for me. regardless they are great performers and musicians and they tried something new, which is more than many groups can say they do.
Spoiler alert
