I actually don't see how he could have taught differently. The reason for the Holy Spirit in us is to lead us in all truth there for a planting through this teaching has been made. And the one who desires to grow in the knowledge of Christ will search further and the Holy Spirit is standing by to speak of Jesus as the truth the way and the life.
