oddly in America most of the average people while knowing that India is in Asia we don't tend to think of Indians as Asian we seen to think of India as just its own area
If you grew up in the US before the 2000's, chances are you thought Indians were from North America and lived in TP's 😂 At least until middle school geography classes taught us India was a country and history classes taught us how Christopher Columbus believed he landed in India, which is why they were called Indians.
@mikeef747 Not at all. Indians were referred to just as Indian from the subcontinent of India. India wasn't regarded as part of the Asian continent back then. It's the same with the Middle East. Not Asia. Turkey was definitely regarded as like the border of western Asia. But truthfully, it's all one big land mass, so the borders of the continents seem at least a little flexible.
Nowhere near half of Asians working on the transcontinental railroad died, although the mortality rate was high due to a variety of factors. The railroad on the eastern side of the country was largely built by whites of all ethnicities and origins, not just Irish, and they also experienced high mortality. Building the railroad was grueling and perilous for all.

Same with the Middle East. We tend to forget Iraq is Asia for instance
@@aazo5yeah I always heard in school that turkey was the border for Asia, but I always thought of Arab people or Indian people as stand alone groups

US... no need to drag the rest of America into this

It's almost like he was a comedian and was exaggerating.
Black people and native indians also died building the railroad. Majority of deaths were Asian though.
You are trying to cope so hard. 😂😂😂
You two should really do a reaction to Jo Koy's skut on Asian accents. Some of the most hilarious I've ever heard. 😂
