Rudy is gonna get shit for this game.. but almost the entire 2nd half I was watching Jokic being like “how tf did he just do that”
It’s not a testament of how bad or rudy he was, it was a testament to how good Jokić is. Anthony Davis Wembanyama none of them could’ve done any better. Plus I think Rudy showed more heart in this game than ANT. Ant never once moved off ball he just stood there watching while his team played 4 v 4. Rudy had so much more hustle this game then Edwards that’s why his plus minuses are so much better than Edwards.
But you’re right Gobert will be the scapegoat as usual.

At the end of the day, Jokic won’t be remembered only for this performance. He will be remembered for the biggest Denver nuggets comeback against the best defensive NBA team in history from being 2 games down losing home court advantage. On a philosophical level, since the Nuggets needed something to wake them up, I think it was a good thing that they went down 0-2.
If you can watch the full game, it's pretty outstanding. You asked at 13:00 why they're not going to Ant every time. The answer is that he was absolutely smothered. The instant he got the ball he was double-teamed. He shot 33% tonight.
Also, look at Jokic's FG%: 68% and 0 turnovers. He's the first player EVER in the playoffs to score or assist on 70+ points and have 0 turnovers.

I understand the narative the Rudy was guarding Jokic 1 on 1 and Jokic scores 40 but on this game, he has the best +/- of his team by far, 2 blocks, 2 steals, scores as much as Ant. Honestly on most of these Jokic highlights, the defense is pretty good. Active on his feet, hands up, physical, Jokic is just too good. I love Wemby but great players have also had great scoring nights against him.
