This cool feature alone is what may make me go for a C5 over a C6, and I'll make sure to check it for codes before I buy - I think this is especially important if you were to buy from a private seller, who may not let you take their vehicle for a PPI or test drive. Going through the DTCs on the DIC does give you a rough idea of the car's condition. I do still recommend a PPI, though, and I'll try and get one if I can.
My scan tool work along with Android and displays gauges as dials graphics and it cost about $20 5 years ago. So far have had no need to use it (DIC sufficient) on either of my 2 2003 coupes.
Both work for the C5 and C6 and Wix filters. IMO Wix is confident about the quality and has put their reputation on the line. Than having been said, sgree about the origin and changed the link - thanks!!
@@Toys4Life Nice, looking forward to that. I'd been looking at one of the TOPDONs in the same price/spec range, but it's come up recently in TOPDON's terms of use that after the 2 years of free updates you may not only have to pay for updates (which is fine and to be expected, of course), but may also lose some functionality like bidirectional controls. I saw this in another video comparing various OBD II scanners and at this point it's unclear of exactly what will or won't happen after that initial free period. Looking through OTOFIX's site and the user manual for the D1 Lite I didn't see anything like that.
I totally agree with you. I have found with my 2001 coupe it’s good to have both. 😎
Glad you are continuing this series!
Currently in the market for a C5, possibly a C6 if the right deal comes along. I enjoy all of your videos, thank you for all the great information.
Glad you like them!
Get a c5 if that's preferred.
What's stopping you from pulling the trigger?
02:53 what a flex. he had to go out of his way to make a code show up 🤣

That's pretty cool.
i wish the c6 had it...
Me too!

Which one do you have?
@@Toys4Life I'll look it up tomorrow.
The Wix oil filter you listed is made in China. This is the correct made in USA model WIX 51042XP Heavy Duty Lube Filter

Are you going to be doing a review of the OTOFIX D1 Lite? Very curious to see what it will be able to do.
Yes, but I have a couple of videos in the works that use its capabilities to do perform some awesome & useful tests/functions!
